News AMD B850 motherboard pricing leaks at Amazon's overseas store — Gigabyte B850 boards listed between $240 and $308

Agreed. I remember paying about 70-80 for my old AsRock b350 a few years back. I get amd is on top but they need to remember how they got there. Intel is a big company and if they start playing the game from behind like amd did for years they could be right back in.

I think y'all complaining about the prices should hold your horses.
That screenshot doesn't even tell us who the seller is. Is it Aorus/Gigabyte official? or a 3rd party?
Amazon 3rd party sellers have a habit of inflating the price before the item is actually launched.
If it's official, then you can go ahead and complain.

However, the real cheap boards aren't B850. That's the spot the B840 is supposed to fill, particularly in the mATX variety.

While features on newer mobos do increase the cost to produce them, IMO mobos costing >$300. are exploitation by the mobo makers. They have done this with Intel as well as AMD boards. AMD does not tell the mobo makers what to charge. Part of the problem IMO is that mobo makers have decided to produce 10+ model mobos for each mobo series AM4/AM5. That means sales of a specific model mobo are lower resulting in a need to charge more than if there were say 5 models selling in higher volume. Individualization is nice but not at a significant cost increase.
