AMD C-50 Overclocking.

Hi,

I have a 10.1" tablet with the AMD C-50 APU and am wondering what the safe overclock limits would be in such a small form factor. The tablet does have a fan and uses an SSD for storage however the fan does run and exhaust warm air whilst running Windows 8.1 x86.

This thread reports overclocks of up to 4gHz but I can't see it being able to cool itself well enough in a tablet with a 4x overclock.

Thanks
Jake

They are not overclocking at all.. I can make a screen shot with a brazos I have laptop that is sky high in GHz but it isn't actually overclocking anything. You have to have the Brazos cpu with Turbo Boost to actually overclock it. Such as the E-350.. They guy in the other thread isn't overclocking at all.. CPU-z is bugged with Brazos and with Llano as well. So best performance you can hope for is to lock the cpu at 1Ghz but it will lower running time when on battery significantly. If you guys want proof I can do some benches and prove it to you if you want. LMK
You overclock tablets by cutting a hole in the back panel and mounting a liquid cooling radiator on the CPU, duh. It's like you've never overclocked a tablet CPU beyond what the people making the device clearly thought were logical and sound limitations to prevent catastrophic failure.

On a non sarcastic note, why are you overclocking a tablet?

I'm not actually planning on overclocking mine. I just couldn't believe that it would be capable of 4gHz. I've seen several people claiming that the tablet will cope with this amount of overclocking.

Technically it could briefly overclock to absurd rates, but it would quickly overheat. Some who live in very cold climates could get away with moderate overclocks.
