When i install the AMD Catalist driveres, it says " Application Install : Install Install Package Failure". I tried cleaning all old drivers by using Driver Fusion and install it again and again. But it didnt work for me.
I have HP G42 Notebook.

Please somebody help me on this....:)

Thank you darkbreeze, for your immediate reply.
My notebook is : HP G42 363tx
OS : Win 7 32 bit

I have tried to install this on win 8, 64 bit os also. but it did'nt work for me. Is this a fault about my GPU?

Your laptop comes with the possibility of AMD or Intel graphics packages. Obviously, this will not work with the Intel graphics and the AMD adapter that comes optionally with that unit apparently does not support the CCC. The CCC is mainly for Radeon based graphics chipsets and some of the AMD HD series chipsets. You will need to locate the serial number or service tag number to determine which package yours has, or it may list it in the system info. I'd recommend installing the drivers located at the following links and then updating them via windows update:

AMD graphics package:

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp51501-52000/sp51926.exe

Intel 4 series graphics package:

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp49501-50000/sp49653.exe

Intel HD series graphics package:

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp48001-48500/sp48274.exe

Ok, so something is conflicting. Start you rig in safe mode by powering up the unit, pressing F8 until you see the safe mode screen, enter safe mode and then go into add and remove programs in control panel and uninstall anything you see that says AMD. Next, go into device manager in control panel and under display adapters, uninstall whatever is there. Reboot and let windows find the display adapters on it's own. Next, go back into device manager and under display adapters right click on your device and select update and then auto update. See how that works and we can go from there.

I did as you said, but after all it is the same. after installing drivers from the device manager system request rebooting the system. after reboot the same thing happens. Blue Screen appears with saying memory dump. When i cancel the system request, there is a message box saying that "Could not load file or assembly 'MOM.Implementation' or one of its dependencies. The system canot find the file specified "

Ok, well, you're doing something wrong. I don't know what and I'm not saying it's your fault. Windows is like a child throwing a temper tantrum sometimes. It almost sounds to me like you are installing the 32bit version of the drivers on a 64 bit system or the other way around. Are you sure you're installing the correct 32 or 64 bit version for your version of windows?

Also, if you've uninstalled the device using device manager and then rebooted windows should automatically install a generic device driver that won't cause instability problems. You might not get the correct resolution and refresh rates, but that can be fixed later. It should however be stable. If it's not then maybe you have an issue with the display adapter.

no when i uninstall the ATI drivers from safe mode computer get started normaly. but the thing is i cant install the ATI drivers.

That is the way that i have done.....:🙁

Well, if the card won't work with windows native drivers, drivers updated via windows update, drivers from your pc manufacturers website or by using the catalyst control center drivers, then I'd suggest you either reinstall windows or return the card. There is either an issue with your windows installation or you have a bad GPU.

Thank you for your reply. Is there a way to find out wheather my GPU dead?

I'd put the windows 8 OS back on and try the CCC drivers. If that doesn't work, you probably might be able to install a new pci GPU. I don't know if that laptop has the slot for one or not but I can check into it. I wouldn't say the GPU is dead, exactly, since it displays the blue screen correctly. Have you tried going into the bios and making sure of the settings there? Maybe try resetting the BIOS to default settings.

My apologies, but until AMD corrects their installation package, there really is no solution. A workaround would be to install the driver only, which can be downloaded separately. The rest of this post just explains the issue.

I really dislike vendors sometimes. It's almost guaranteed they did not test this. I've had issues with the past couple of releases, but finally decided to dig somewhat deeper.

The package fails because the installers are referencing the incorrect bitness of DLLs. My system is 64-bit, but the installers are extracting and attempting to use 32-bit. When, say, a custom action from within the installation attempts to use the 32-bit DLL, the 32-bit DLL attempts to use 64-bit references, which causes the installation to fail. This does not impact all portions of the install (as they are separate installers), but for 14.12 the following are impacted:

AMD Catalyst Install Manager (Monet_CA.DLL (32-bit) referenced)
HDMI Audio Driver (DifxDrv_CA.dll (32-bit) referenced)
AMD Drag and Drop Transcoding (AMDMFTVideoDecoder_32.dll (32-bit) referenced)
AMD Accelerated Video Transcoding (atimpenc.dll (32-bit) referenced)

I was able to correct the AMD Catalyst Install Manager package because it has a 64-bit Monet_CA.dll in it along side the 32-bit. It just needed to be referenced correctly in the CustomActions table of the MSI. (Change NewBinary22--> NewBinary21) This, of course, is only a temporary workaround and does not correct the other failing installs.

If the installation is going to cover both 32 and 64 bit, the AMD needs to properly take them into account. Otherwise, focus on one correctly.

I hope this helps others.

Hey darkbreeze. Thank you for the reply. Version 14.12 mentioned in my post is also known as Omega. The issue exists there as well as in some past releases. My testing was done just prior to the post. Cheers.

The AMD Gaming Evolved application informs the user that there is a new driver available; AMD Catalyst Driver (14.12), then takes them to the download for the Catalyst Software Suite Omega (14.12).

As stated previously, installing the driver only (AMD Display Driver 14.501.1003.0000) is a workaround and no errors will be encountered. But if attempting to install the same driver using the Catalyst Software Suite Omega (14.12) package will cause the error message described in the topic of this thread. And this is due to what I described previously.

Thanks again for helping clarify.

Seems like I suggested this before, but I don't see it above. You might try uninstalling all current and fragmented installations using the Display driver uninstaller, and THEN try installing the Omega package. The DDU removes old drivers, registry entries that may be causing conflicts with the installer package and fragmented installations.

DDU: http://www.wagnardmobile.com/DDU/

Choose the AMD option and when it asks, allow the safe mode reboot. It's the only way I know of to FULLY get a clean environment for installing the drivers. More often than not, this works. After it completes, then install your package.

As soon as I try to navigate to %SYSTEMDRIVE%\AMD\AMD-Catalyst-Omega-14.12-With-DOTNet45-Win7-64bit\Packages\Apps\CIM\Win64 it says "The system cannot find the path specified" and I double-checked my copying. Is there something special I need to do to get the file?

This directory is created after amd-catalyst-omega-14.12-with-dotnet45-win7-64bit.exe is downloaded from AMD's site and executed. If it has not executed successfully, the directory will not exist.

Let us know if this helps.
