13.8 causes my main monitor to artifact about once a day. Last time I started up with it I got an error message telling me the driver was installed incorrectly, that was after I used it for 3 days. It's back to 13.4 for me.

HardOCP has commented on this problem for years. I assume the reaction from the AMD R&D department was the same as the AMD fanboys on these forums.... "So what"... "They're biased" .... "Can't be true" .... "That problem was fixed" .... "Nvidia also has driver problems"....

But, but the man from AMD he say :-"we still love PC gamers and we’re absolutely committed to them. That’s never going to go away. Nobody should have any doubt that we’re committed to GPUs." linkhttp://.

So they must have been listening, just not taking any notice though!

This driver runs extremely unstable on my HD 7790 as my PC restarts randomly after the screen saver ticked in.

Unfortunatly every driver since version 13.4 gives me the "driver stopped working and has been recovered" error every 15min while doing something (surfing or gaming). I'm stuck with the 12.1 driver for my card, which is the only one that is running somehow stable, but I get bad static noise when the GPU is under load nevertheless.
This must be a driver issue, because it randomly stopped after vers 13.4 driver stopped working and recovered, but not every time this error occured.

AMD still hasn't released a stable driver for the HD 7790 since vers. 12.1.

I guess ATI/AMD drivers still are sh!t and I should have gone for Nvidia.

When I tried the 13.1 it didn't give me the option to install a driver just the CCC manager, what make is your card?

On the AMD driver download site, you need to specifically select the driver for the "7790". The regular drivers for all the other 6000 and 7000 series cards will not work. Submitted without comment or irony.

Ah Ok, I just downloaded the one from Guru3D as it was easier to find. Thanks for the heads up.

Edit: And you really weren't kidding either!

AMD has released a specific Catalyst™ Performance Driver for the AMD Radeon™ HD7790 graphics card for both Windows® and Linux based systems.

I guess I'll have to go back to square one and play about with these drivers once more.

Now they're actually requiring you to use compatible drivers with your hardware? That AMD really must be trying to upset their customers!.

No, I had to install the HDMI driver even though I don't use or need it and didn't install it with the "specific" driver or 13.4 or 13.6.

Wish they'd do something about DX9. Bought an HD 7770 and I'm tired of the hitching/stuttering - even with decent FPS - on Skyrim. Just had the card a week, probably should just return it and get a GTX 650 Ti.

Even if they could fix it, the 650 Ti allows you to enable Ambient Occlusion, which enhances the graphics quality throughout the game. The 7770 can't do AO on Sky rim.
