Hopefully win10 is to win8 what win7 was to vista. Also not much for the whole subsrciption based crap so hopefully it'll just be the bane of a few programs and not the os itself.

On the other hand this leak has brought attention to amd and put them in the news, even it's not their own products keeping them relevant lol.

Windows 10 AKA how to totally breach your privacy and hand control over your data to Microsoft?????

http://www.techradar.com/news/software/operating-systems/windows-10-release-date-price-news-and-features-1029245

Reportedly:

1. "Short after the release of the Windows 10 WTP, the OS was pegged for collecting user data. While this is a beta preview, and as such should be collecting feedback data, claims from a number of news outlets pointed to more even more sensitive information.

The Technical Preview reportedly has the capability to track and log keystrokes, capture voice data and more."

2. Windows Personal Agent - remembers everything you do on your PC (!)

3. Windows Photo App that automatically creates folders for photos with full details of where they were taken, date etc (sounds like it could be bundles of fun for those who browse for adult photos! - No love, I don't know how that folder got there. Must be a virus!)

Also, checks them with your online storage for duplicates so potentially more privacy breaches even for those with simple family photos.

4. One Drive Storage online - not sure if this is subscription or standard but personally, I don't want my data online where others (including company people) have access

5. Fast Identity Online (FIDO) - Does away with passwords by using automatic recognition - great in theory but that also by implication means Windows identifies you online to everything that asks you to sign in, so potentially no more anonymous browsing

Seems Microsoft is possibly becoming big brother if these reported features are true.

There's a lot to be said for a simple OS such as Windows 7 or XP.

No doubt some things will present more issues, more security concerns etc but many of these things already exist with or without win10. I believe things like photos it was referencing using the metadata stored in all photos, so say you're out taking pics of flowers with your digital camera in summer and skiing pics in winter, it can sort those photos even if they're all jumbled up. That's been around for years and years. You can even store comments and things and save it with a picture.

People have been vulnerable to identification far longer than now. Possible people just didn't know or weren't thinking so much about security and privacy. It might make it easier for marketing to keep track of you but if it's big brother you're concerned about that ship sailed long ago. Each machine has a mac address that's unique to it, gov can obtain records from your isp etc etc. It doesn't need features in win10 to do that. Not saying these aren't all valid security concerns but they're definitely nothing new with windows.
