I have an AMD-FX 8370 and stock cooler just is way too loud it makes me insane.
Is there any cooler that has those 2 metal clip things like stock cooler that I can just attach to my AM3 cpu socket thing. I have like a small blue little frame around my CPU and that's where I attached the Stock cooler simply with those 2 clips. Online I see all these people installing GIANT coolers (like that evo cooler) by taking out their motherboard and stuff. Guys... I cant do that. I just want a simple thing that can get me under 60°C when High end gaming. Something I can install JUST like the stock cooler. but its better!
I have enough money.
Thanks!

Be Quiet!'s coolers rely on the stock retention mechanism meaning you don't need to work with a backplate or removing the board for assembly.

You should include a budget and a region for purchase...we can work out a link for you to buy a suitable cooler. Might it be possible to pass on your full system's specs?
:)

You can install any cpu cooler pretty much without taking the motherboard out just take off both side panels and there is a hole letting you get to under the cpu where the bracket goes. I've swapped many without taking it all out. I'm sure the nerd will say that's the way you are supposed to do but you don't HAVE TO..

That thing is way too big for my PC I think
Also. Looks much to complicated to install

Couldnt find a single "Be quiet!" Cooler with those clips for the retain mechanism.
Im from Germany/Europe.
I can afford anything between 10-60€

was ist das für zeugs alter check null wie man das installiert.
will, was easies haben wie stock cooler

Flynnkay,
I own a Be Quiet! Shadow Rock LP and it's used on a ASRock A85X-itx which yet has it's stock mounting/hold down mechanism. All I needed to do is use a screw driver to tighten the screws that in turn tightened the two clips under the pressure bar

Now stating that a suggestion for the TX3 Evo would be too tall for your case, I'm going to have you to ask what your full system's specs are(again)? Height restrictions would be something that also removes a lot of tower coolers form suggestions.

^ what Lufti said 100%.

The tx3 evo isn't a big cooler - anything below 140mm will fit pretty much any desktop tower style case.
Its not good enough for an 8370 though IMO.

Deepcool gammaxx 300
Deepcool gammaxx s40

Both use the stock amd clip Mount system.
Both good coolers.
Both below 140mm

thanks for your reply. yes It seems the tx3 is not good enough. also Im using a 90mm fan atm and it just fist in... I think anything bigger than that will NOT work because then I dont have space for my 2 8GB ram cards...
are there any good CPU coolers which are QUIET and for my 8370 (125w) using stock clip system and are not bigger than ~95mm or so?

Alright here is a picture. Im currently using a Xilence fan for my CPU. it gives me ~35°C idle ~65°C when high performance gaming. Are those temps fine for my 8370? getting temps with HWMonitor.
It appears to be ~90+mm big and I dont think anything else but that size can fit my Motherboard. There will be no space for my RAM Cards.

I know its a bit dusty. but the cooler is doing surprisingly well. originally for an FX-4100!

You'd be surprised how well it'd be for all your other components if the case was dusted regularly. The next thing you need to do is pass on the chassis within which the parts are installed in so we can learn of your height restrictions. From a visual perspective the case looks like it can accept a 100mm+ CPU tower cooler.

* You may wan to flip that top HDD right side up since that is the standard orientation for the spinning drive.

sorry I didnt quite catch that. what do you want me to do haha.
except for the HDD part. yeah I know. I put it there for a while due to lack of space when i built in my new gtx 1070

and are you sure it can accept that? I mean those 100+ have big fans and those will be too big, touching my RAM cards wont they.

CPU: AMD-FX 8370 4GHz (not OC and dont plan to)
Motherboard: Socket AM3+ - AMD 760G - GA-78LMT-USB3 (rev. 4.1)
Ram: 16GB Ram (I believe 2 8GB cards as you see in the picture, next to the fan)
HDD: 1TB HDD I dont know what company or so but It doesnt matter for a CPU cooler anyway...
GPU: KFA2 Nvidia Gefore GTX 1070
PSU: 600W Power supply
Chasis: I have absolutely no idea. its this big blue thing. I held up a CD for scale.

in all honesty the 78lmt isnt really great for running an 8370 mate.
The deepcool coolers I mention would fit easily but really you need vrm airflow & I cant think of a 120mm blower that doesnt require backplate removal.
Ideally a deepcool gabriel or a raijintek pallas would be the ones but both have custom backplates.

The s40 I mentioned earlier is low slung enough at least to offer some vrm cooling, its slimline & doesnt affect ram slots at all on any matx board Ive used.

& no that xilence isnt good enough really,it only has a 100w tdp rating.
I take it youve had the 8370 awhile & diditn get the new wraith cooler with it ??

No I just bought the 8370, because my 4100 bottlenecked my GPU.
so ultimately, what cooler do you recommend me that is Quiet when CPU is under full Load but fits into my PC.
those coolers with the big fat metal cooling boxes always look too big for me...
so?

Does the s40 really fit into my PC? I mean you saw the picture of the inside.. its really tight and small in there. and the fan of the s40 looks giant. 100% SURE that fits? also does it have the metal thing with 2 clips on each side to attach to the am3+ frame thing.?

also would the GAMMAXX 300 fit in my PC?

the s40 & the gammaxx are essentially the same spec & size wise.
The s40 heatsink is a little lower slung, the fan sits a little higher.
The 300 heatsink sits a little higher, the fan a little lower.

dimension wise there is virtually no difference at all

s40 dimensions & fixing brackets (the one on the right fits the standard amd socket mount - you just screw it to the cooler base) - says 143mm high but its actually 140mm on the dot

300 dimension & fixing brackets (yes its exactly the same fixing kit)

The s40 performs very very slightly better & slightly quieter - thyell both me a lot better than that xilence fan you have.
They both have paste preapplied to the cooler base for a very quick fit.
Theyll both fit ,Im 100% sure ,you have a 120mm rear exhaust fan which means essentially you have to have 150mm cpu cooler clearance at least- you may need to tidy your cables a bit better because you dont want them getting dragged into the fan.

I have made my decision. I will get the GAMMAX 300. it looks pretty damn amazing. the temperatures are really good.
Only concern is, WILL IT FIT? are you really 100% sure if it fits? if you want I can provide more pictures.
please take a look at the pictures I posted. I dont worry about the size but more about the width. so will it sure not be too big because my RAM card are there and that big black motherboard thing to the left?
please if you coul do me the favor take an in depth look at my pics.
Thanks :)
