AMD CPU for video editing

Hi Folks,
I currently have an ASUS M5A97 R2.0 Motherboard with the latest BIOS (6/2015). I'm running an AMD FX-6300 Six Core processor, 16 GB of memory and an AMD Radeon HD 6670 graphics card. I do lots of video editing (using Windows 10 and Adobe Premiere Elements 13) and I find that when I'm rendering the video, I can't do much else on the machine. Even browsing the web becomes tedious. I'll take any and all recommendations. Thanks in advance! One last thing - everything is running on a Samsung 500GB SSD.

Most video editing programs require extreme CPU horse power (some are heavy on RAM as well) and use as many cores as you have so upgrading to an 8-core FX will speed up the process but even browsing the web will remain laggy.

An 8320 or 8350 would help, vs the 6300. Depending on the size of the videos, 16GB of DRAM is prob OK

While I think of it - another quick question. Assuming I can just swap processors - will Windows 10 let me or will I need to reinstall Win 10 and all other applications? Again - thanks for whatever help you have to offer.

After replacing a processor, you won't need to.

You will need to reinstall Windows if you replace your motherboard.

Even swapping mobos, you seldom need to reinstall, about 90% of the time Win will simply transition to the new mobo and at worse you have to reactivate
