AMD CPU QUESTION! Help requested

I'm planing on getting an AMD CPU soon. I'm wondering whether or not to wait until the new AMD CPU'S come out because a friend told me that it will make the other AMD cpu's to have a drop in price? When the new AMD comes out will the older models have a price drop? <--- My question.

Update: I'm planing on getting the newer 8 core CPU's so that's the one 'm wondering whether or not it's going to get it's price reduced. Thanks

many times the older models will drop in price but not always right away. It is a gamble at this point.
