"Seriously, why cant intel do this ?"
Intel will do this for sure, in a lesser degree. I see a price war coming this summer. AMD deserves the credit in keeping CPU affordable to majority of the PC users. Must buy her CPUs/GPUs to keep her alive.

It is critical to keep AMD afloat. If they were go out NVidia and Intel would put their prices through the roof. Essentially making everything unaffordable.

Well AMD keep up the price cuts and next year when I build my new desktop I'll come back from the dark side! err, Intel!
With you making the chips for the next Xbox and PS4 you might be seeing one hell of a boost in gaming performance on your pc chips as well.
It'd be fantastic. Let's just hope you can pull it off.

at $112 for an FX6300 no low price gaming build should be built without it. $120 was already an insane value for those cpus... $112 blows my mind. especially when you see the performance of those chips when overclocked.

The biggest bang for the buck is the chart is undoubtedly the fx 6300.
Looks like amd is really stepping up to the gas and giving intel a run for its money in the midrange-budget market due to its aggressive pricing.
But when you look into the high end of the market the whole face changes. Intel cpus are still better in the high end market.
Looking forward to steamroller to bring some nice performance improvement.

The market isnt great right now, and mindshare and marketshare are somethings AMD want to capture.
Intel knows every cheaper Intel chip means one less sold at higher margins, margins which they need to retain to keep their stockholders happy.
Clearing out old stock, capturing mindshare as well as some marketshare is good business for AMD short term.

I'm still using AM3 and AM3+ chips in my builds and everybody is happy, the bang for the buck is still firmly in the AMD cap, especially with folks doing more media creation thanks to all the cameras everyone carries in their pockets.

I also put my money where my mouth is, I have a 1035T and counting all the units in my family we are up to 6 AMD desktops and laptops so if you support competition (and don't want to support market rigging like Intel rigging their compiler and bribing OEMs) then do as I did and go AMD!
