I've been experiencing some severe overheating issues while gaming and it is shutting down my PC after it reaches temps upwards of 82c. I've tried tweaking fan speeds and checking bios settings but I can't find what's wrong.
Could the game really be working it THAT hard? The game I'm playing is Skyrim. I do have a number of mods running including HD textures, flora tweaks, weather enhancers, and water effects. But it doesn't really seem to matter which game it is. It seems that ANY game I play, I see temps that average 73c.
The cpu idles at 49c. I have not overclocked the cpu. It's running at stock speeds with the stock fan and heatsink. Here are my specs:
AMD FX 8150 cpu
Asus Sabertooth 990FX mobo
16 GB DDR3 memory
Galaxy GTX560 2 GB graphics card
256 GB Samsung SSD
Zalman Z9 case
The games are not running from the SSD. They are all installed on a second 1 TB SATA HDD.
Any help here would be greatly appreciated.
