AMD FX 8320e ram support

I just bought an 8320E from amazon and since I couldn't find it on like 3 different websites could someone tell me what speed MHz ram it supports? Thanks!

These CPUs are guaranteed to work with generic DDR3-1600CL11 (JEDEC spec). With some tweaking it is possible to run quite faster RAM with DDR3-2400CL9 is typically as good as it gets if you are a lucky and skilled AMD overclocker.

You can certainly buy faster RAM and run it slower if needed for compatiblility. I, as well as many others here, can assist you with BIOS settings to get your RAM running at the maximum possible, which varies from CPU to CPU, and RAM kit to RAM kit.

Indeed. 1866-2133 seems most common.

Of the ones that can do 2400, only a very few of those can get CL9 stable.

Get whatever you want. The worst case scenario with buying DDR3-2133 or 2400 is that you can't get it to work at those speeds so you just run it slightly slower at 1866 or 1600.

Yeah, the good RAM doesn't usually cost too much more than generic. At least this way you know that when you tune it up, you will be platform limited instead of limited by your actual RAM.

That motherboard is extremely poor, like the kind of quality you find in a Walmart PC. Don't get your hopes up for anything faster than DDR3-1333 on that pig.

Like all AM3+ processors it officially supports DDR3-1600 if your board has four RAM slots and DDR3-1866 if your board has two RAM slots. Putting two RAM modules in a four-slot board officially is limited to DDR3-1600. Many people manage to run four DIMMs at DDR3-1866 and two DIMMs on a two slot board at DDR3-2133 but your mileage may vary.

You can however set the timings at the supported speeds as fast as your RAM can support. DDR3-1600 is supported regardless if it's CL11 or CL7. CL7 is going to give you moderately better performance though.

fx 8320E handles MAX 2133 if done right, biggest factor is your motherboard and the speeds will run, and then there are your goals with the system, that mother board you asked about will go with 1600 and the fx 8320e at stock without overclock (unless you go to 4.0ghz). ut to be honest you will not see much if anything performance wise going 1600+ as most games out there are cpu or GPU dependant
