AMD FX-8350 is VERY close to i7-3770k in heavily threaded applications, and in some situations, it beats it...especially with certain games that are heavily threaded. The i5-3570k really only bests the FX-8350 in single threaded applications according to the newest benchmarks, and in the vast majority of those cases, it wouldn't make enough difference that you would notice it without having a screen up telling you it's different.
Keep in mind...the FX-8350 is about $40 cheaper than an i5-3570k and about $140-150 cheaper than an i7-3770k
AMD processors are cheap and equally compete with intel, I was having a great confusion when buying a new Assemble PC I was very confused with 2 processors the intel's i5 3570k and AMD's FX8350, But I was very tight on budget not exceeding more than $723 , but i7 processors are very expensive and only the FX 8350 model can somehow compete an i7 3770k but it is way cheap than an i7 or i5 processor , So I bought Amd FX 8350.
Excellent man, you should be fine with that CPU...the difference between it and the high end i5's in lightly threaded applications isn't bad, and in heavily multithreaded things, like Crysis 3 for example, the AMD even comes out ahead in a lot of cases.
