AMD FX-9370 Cooling options?

I bought a AMD FX-9370 and I see tons of people commenting that it REQUIRES water cooling.

Right now I have a rather large fan/heatsink mounted to the board and I seem to be getting lower temps than most people report even on water cooling.

Here is my temps:

I am running on a 970 Pro Gaming Aura which Asus support told me specifically that my CPU was supported on this board.

I am getting a stable 4.4Ghz and even when I clock into turbo it sits at about 4.715 only getting up to about 15C on the thermal margin during load (which I know is cutting it close, that's about 55C to my understanding)

This is the fan I am using (I have no idea how its working):

Do you suggest I find new cooling or is this enough?

Note: Money is tight, I spent 3 months savings for this.

The program I ran was AMD Overdrive with logging. It reads the internal sensors and reports the most accurate temperature.

I get really hot on HWMonitor but I honestly never plan on pushing the cpu this hard and the amd overdrive tool still reports a 15C thermal margin after about 15 minutes of stress (Which according to my research is the temperature distance from when the cpu begins to underclock due to heat):

I understand this is hot for this CPU on HWMonitor, but I have heard TONS of stories about how inaccurate it is with this line of CPU.

Again, if the system works fine for you, and you're comfortable with the temperatures, I see no reason as to buying a new cooler, at least at this point. I would wait until you can afford a new cooler, and purchase something such as the Cryorig H5:
CPU Cooler: CRYORIG H5 Ultimate 76.0 CFM CPU Cooler ($56.60 @ Amazon)

Otherwise, everything seems to be fine (though I still am in a state of disbelief).
Best of luck!

Well, my first recommendation for better cooling would to just replace the CPU. Get a good Intel i7, i5, or at least an i3. The 9370 is a heat monster, and a power monster. In fact, for the exact same price, you can get the i5 4460, which will do a LOT better. For raw performance, it'd do better, but I say a lot better because it uses a lot less heat and power.

Obviously, this would require also replacing the motherboard, which is a hassle, and a costly hassle. So if you won't take my advice, which would be understandable if you want to avoid this hassle, then I would suggest a high end water cooler. I don't mean like H100i, I mean more like H115i or Kraken X61. The least you should get for that volcano chip is a Noctua NH-D15, which I would actually recommend over the water coolers, because air coolers are much better than water coolers in terms of noise, price to performance, and leakage.

Thank you for the advice and unfortunately I picked this CPU for its price point to performance which on many benchmarks your suggestion is quite out performed.

I understand the energy cost is high, however I have an electric company that is super cheap and like mentioned before, I really don't plan on overclocking this baby and it's the most stable processor I have ever owned. Plus the fact that even with major load I'm still under the AMD Utility Thermal margin. (Which I trust most seeing as it's an AMD CPU)

I really appreciate the cooler pick, if I DO have to replace it the Kraken would most likely be what I get, I don't mind noise as the computer is in the center of the living room and usually blasting music. Im a little concerned with getting the noctua as it would most likely sit over the memory slots or even worse not fit because of them.

On a side note I wouldn't mind underclocking it to match my GPU at 100% on GTA to save on heat.

You're trying to argue that the 9370 is better than the i5-4460?

The benchmarks do show that the 9370 is better. However, the benchmarks aren't correct in that sense. The 4460 will outperform the 9370 in games, and in video editing, rendering, and photo editing, period.

Good choice for cooling though, the Kraken X61 is one of the best on the market.

I understand the single thread rating is going to change how games perform, etc. I do a lot of random things from encryption testing to random development, so I went with the most overall power per dollar vs thread power per dollar. In terms of gaming, yes I would say that I5 is better, but I feel I could get the best use with this. Thank you again though!

The only thing the 4460 lost to against the 9590, yes, not 9370, but 9590, were the benchmarks. It beat it in the video editing (multi threaded) and gaming. So if I were you, I'd consider RMAing that 9370 while you still can, if you still can. Otherwise the water cooler you picked is great.
