I plan to upgrade my PC , i saw FX-9590 and thought i can buy it. It is $220 now and i will explain what is killing me.
When i was reading at the internet , i saw people saying that FX-9590 is overclocked FX-8350 , but hey , i don't plan on overclocking so i want that 1 Ghz more :) I will be playing games and recording it with program for recording obviously. I heard also that AMD is better in multi-tasking so i think this is the right processor for me.
Oh and i will probably be buying Sapphire R9 270x Toxic Edition for GPU .
I would cool my FX-9590 with Thermaltake Water 3.0 Extreme 99.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler.

Hello
- Don't waste money on an FX 9590, even an i5 4690k
- Get a "simple" i5 4440 or AMD FX 8320 and you can buy with saved money a much better GPU, like R9 280X or GTX 770, even the upcoming GTX 960
- Don't waste your money on an expansive and noisy watercooling, get the Hyper 212 Evo if no OC, or the excellent Thermalright Macho
- For only gaming, the GPU is the critical part, don't cheap on it
I'd suggest an Intel CPU, I know it's annoying to hear but an Intel chip of the same price will perform MUCH better in games, and will only bit about 5% slower rendering videos, etc. I'd go for the i7-4790K.
If you set on AMD, yes the chip will do fine. I just think you can get a much better chip for the price.

no, it's just a factory overclocked fx 8350, if you are determined to with amd then fx 8350/fx 8370 is you best and only options, but if you want something with more performance go with intel i5 4690k or i7 4790k, also there is no guarantee that the cooler you picked will be able to cool that thing, they produce massive amounts of heat and depending on your luck in lottery you can end up with a chip that runs to hot for your cooler, and no they are not better in multitasking, they are a cheaper alternative to intel but only up to fx 8370, and in gaming those chips lack the single thread performance that intel has, for 220 just go with i5 4690k, also as a point you need a high end am3 board for that chip(ANYTHING LESS THAN 8 +2 phase vrm design and youll watch your board die)

Sorry guys i didn't mention this but i don't have FX-8350 now , i have Intel Core 2 Duo E4500 @ 2.20 GHz . Thanks for replying so fast , i have 1 more question . Is FPS in games more CPU or GPU instensive ?

An i5-4690K (or i5-4690) is more than you need with the R9 270X and you won't have to buy a very expensive motherboard or a liquid cooler. The money saved would allow you to buy a faster GPU.

Very good advice.

Agree, depends how much he wants to edit videos, etc though. :)

I still would steer clear clear of the 9370/9590 because of bad performance/price ratio vs an 8320/8350. But that is just me taking into account what I have achieved with my 8320.

I also agree with this. Getting an i5-4440 makes even more sense when you consider the fact that you do not plan on overclocking. The only real reason to get an i5-4690k (or any k series cpu) is so that you can overclock.
