can any body help i have a cooltek G3 htpc case and wanted to know what the best aftermarket cpu cooler there is for amd fx6300 in stead of using the stock heatsink
my mobo is Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3 is noctua NH-L9i low profile anygood or Prolimatech Samuel 17 CPU Cooler

The Noctua LH-9i is not compatible with the AMD platform. It's an Intel-only CPU cooler.
On the other hand, the Samuel IS compatible with the AM3+ platform - in order to go with that you would have to buy a fan separately, which translates into added cost.
In case you want to go that route, this fan would make a great choice. The Samuel 17 is only compatible with 120mm fans, and this balanced fan should prove great:

3ogdy is right, the noctua lh-9i is only gonna work with intel sockets lga1150, lga1155, lga1156

but most aftermarket coolers are better than stock amd/intel coolers. just get one with a nice big heatsink and a good connection between the surface that meets the cpu and the heatsink fins
