the i5 performs better at stock than the Fx-8350. But if you are going to overclock the FX-8350 is the way to go as you will be able to get it on par with the i7 4770k
welll... you'll have fanboys for either on here. In games that only use 2 or 4 cores, the 4670 would be faster stock vs stock. games like BF4, crysis 3, and watch dogs that can utilize 8 cores, the AMD would be better.

also, the ps4/xbox one both have 8core CPUs... so you can expect 8 core usage to be the normal going forward.

not sure how the intel clocks, but the 8350's typically get to 5.0ghz if you have them on a 240mm all in one liquid loop

AMD FX8350 is better in multi-threaded performance, while Intel Core i5 4670k beats the FX8350 in single-threaded performance.

Intel Core i5 4670k uses 41 W less power than the FX8350.

The FX8350 can be overclocked much more than the 4670k.

If you get a good cooler and overclock your FX8350 it can beat the 4670k.

I say go with AMD FX 8350 since according to http://www.cpubenchmark.net/high_end_cpus.html, the FX 8350 beats the i5 4670k by 1254 points.

Highly depends on what games you play, but for the most part the i5 will outperform the 8350. And assuming both have good overclocks, the i5 still pretty much wins out. Not to mention still uses less power.

Usually people go with AMD because it is the cheaper option, but if you can get an i5-4670k for the same price, the i5 wins hands down, every time.
