Hello,

This is my first AMD Gaming rig I've built.. Just wanted to get a general consensus as to what my Normal Temperatures. should be. More specifically while playing GTA V.

My PC Info :
AMD FX 9590
ASRock 990FX Extreme 9
Sapphire Tri-X 290X
Coolermaster Seidon 120M Liquid Cooler

Since I can't find any information on AMD's site about safe operating temperatures, figured I'd check here.

Idle Temp - 28C-35C
GTA V Temp - 48C - 60C - I've seen it spike up to almost 65C before I turned VSYNC to Half. now it only hits about 63C occasionally.

Thanks !!

Those are some pretty good temps for that furnace of a processor. AMD doesn't seem to want to divulge their temperatures like Intel does. But the best way to keep an eye on FX temps is with AOD: http://www.techspot.com/downloads/4645-amd-overdrive.html
What it will show instead of core temps is core thermal limits. The distance to max temps. TM reads in reverse compared to temp. The lower the number, the closer you are to max temp.

Thanks for the great info.. I installed AOD, turned on the logging and ran various tests - The lowest thermal margin temp I received was 22C while playing GTA V . - Otherwise during IDLE and web browsing it was 55c-60c

Great load numbers. Sounds like the cooler is doing its job. I like to keep my AMD processors' TM in the double digits at max load.
