Hi, :hello:

First let me say the Sapphire HD 7770 is running perfectly right out of the box. Yet it does not do as well in my game World of Warcraft compared to my 3 year old nVidia 9800GT I was getting 75FPS compared to only 60FPS that I get now with the HD7770.

Maybe it’s a VC setting that I have over looked???

I did 4 tests…#1 at Default for both the CPU & VC…#2 I OC’d the VC…#3 I open all 4 cores on the CPU + OC'd VC, note the drop in the score. Test #4 I OC’d the CPU from 3.1 to 3.3ghz + 4 cores + VC OC'd & got my best score.

3DMark11 4 Test results: P = Score OC’d = Overclocked

1) P2773: CPU 3.1ghz 2 Cores, VC 1000 core/1125 memory, These settings are all @ Default
2) P3023: CPU 3.1ghz 2 Cores, OC’d VC 1150 core/1250memory
3) P2896: CPU 3.1ghz 4 Cores & OC’d VC 1150 core/1250memory
4) P3515: OC’d CPU 3.3ghz 4 Cores OC’d VC 1150 core/1250memory

After test #4...I tested my Game World of Warcraft...No Change with my graphics set on GOOD, I'm getting 15 to 25fps in Town. In the Field 60fps +/-

Futuremark average scores:
AMD Radeon HD 7770 P3290* [$160]
AMD Radeon HD 7850 P5540 [$260]
AMD Radeon HD 7870 P6790 [$360]

*P3290 is -73% less than best 3DMark11 graphics card score (P12300).

Yup I would even go with this one it is $20 cheaper and the same card http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130664 but both are same MIR price. The Ti stands for...

I have a GTX 560 Ti 2GB at the moment, EVGA brand, I can and do play BF3 @ 40-35FPS at absolute ultra settings. No offense, but WoW is NOT! graphics intensive at the least amount, thus this card will serve you amazingly, and has great cooling/overclockability. :)

You would be surprised about how much hardware WoW takes to run full time @ 60fps min it's no longer like back in the day of Vanilla WoW were an 8400GS could max it out. Even my GTX 275 kinda struggles in Stormwind with mid 40s fps when there are many Players on the screen at once like by the AH and Bank and I even have to turn down shadows from Ultra to high otherwise it goes to around 30fps.

Hi, :hello:

Very good point, that might cost me $24 for a restock fee because the VC does work perfectly. My fear is that Diablo3 might not do as well as WoW.

7 years ago when I did my first build I did a RMA with Newegg, I called them to explain & they did not charge me, I also ordered the new item @ the higher price.

May I exchange my RMA'd item for a different product?

No. Unfortunately, we do not exchange RMA items for different items. We will only replace an RMA'd item with a an identical replacement item of the same make and model.

If the return policy period for a refund has not yet expired, you can request an RMA Refund, order a new item, and we'll refund your original purchase after we receive your returned product.

Any return for a refund may be subject to a 15% restocking fee. This fee may be waived for the following reasons:
•Carrier damage
•Defective product
•Product does not match advertising
•Received incorrect product
•Product was an extra item not ordered
Note: Any return that is misrepresented as being for any of the above reasons will automatically have the restocking fee applied even if it was initially waived.

Keep us updated on how you make out with the RMA and when you get your new card how it works out. All the best .

Well according to newegg it has the standard vga return policy so you should be fine. Is the card still within 30 days and do you fit the other standard return policy criteria?

It will most likely be a return>refund>buy new card which will net you a loss of some money and a long turn around from initial return to getting a new card. Inconvenient but I believe it would be worth it.

Hi, :hello:

Thank you All for your help & advice. I'm in a state of, of, of...What to do, a RMA for a return an eat the loss [$24] seems like the right thing to do. I weighed all the facts yet I hesitate an I don't know why. Purchase date is 03/27/2012, tick tock. I really like the HD 7770 it works perfectly.

I've made 152 j/k in game adjustments using all the above suggestions, I'm running a steady 60fps +/- in an unpopulated area, 40-60fps in solo battle & 20-40 in Stormwind a town during peak server hours. I will continue to tweak & level up my toon at the same time. I will know for sure by Monday what to do.

Also lets consider this almost 3 year old build, it was a Mid range build, now it's a Low range build that could use a new CPU. I was hoping this build would last 4 years minium but the games are catching up to the hardware. A new VC should add 2-3 years till my next build.

Here is my compare chart @ Newegg for a GTX 560 Ti [Fermi] 1G & 2G wide open to suggestions:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Productcompare.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100006519%2050001315%2040000048&IsNodeId=1&bop=And&ActiveSearchResult=True&CompareItemList=%2D1%7C14%2D130%2D683%5E14%2D130%2D683%2DTS%2C14%2D130%2D738%5E14%2D130%2D738%2DTS%2C14%2D127%2D608%5E14%2D127%2D608%2DTS%2C14%2D121%2D425%5E14%2D121%2D425%2DTS%2C14%2D500%2D236%5E14%2D500%2D236%2DTS

This looks extra nice for my current build with alittle future proofing.

Hi, :hello:

I have my RMA from newegg. I will buy a new nVidia VC. Please make all recommendations base on the above Hardware. The EVGA GTX 560 ti looks good since I will be upgrading the CPU in a year. Is there enought gain in having a 2G mem compared to 1G VC for $55 more to play games?

Budget: $200 - $250 +/-

First choice: EVGA 01G-P3-1561-AR GeForce GTX 560 Ti FPB (Fermi) 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card $204.00 :)

note: The MSI OC VC is a bit long...but it will fit in my Antec 900 case...I can OC it myself.

It seems none of us asked what resolution you are using. 2g of Vram is most certainly a wast of money for 1080P resolution and under because it will never get used in WoW not even close 1gb is more than enough for 1680x1050 22" resolution so save you money. The 560ti is a good card but you could even save a bit more and go down to a GTX 560 non ti model and be just as well.

Yup I would even go with this one it is $20 cheaper and the same card http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130664 but both are same MIR price. The Ti stands for Titanium which is an old acronym they used on some of there older card like from 05 as a homage type thing. The GTX 560 non Ti will play WoW maxed out no problems so there really is no need to spend more on the Ti version. Plus EVGA has now changed there policy and is now extending there minimum Warranty across all there products to Three years.

OP doesn't need a 560ti to max out WoW the GTX 560 non ti will max out WoW at 60fps min without issues plus Galaxy is an off brand and just cant even come close to the quality of EVGA and there Warranty. Ones things for sure is the up front cost is for real rebates are not thats why they are jankey and I don't mess with them.

Thanks for your opinion. Galaxy isn't a premium brand but they are just fine. And I said that it had a $20 off promo, did I not?

Really that 7770 should have been running better. Even a GTX 460 could max this game.

This was already gone over but I will again Radeon cards get performance gouged in WoW and all Blizzard games a GTX 460 is a far better option to run WoW than is a Radeon 7770.
