Install a small Socket A heatsink (or a large one if it will fit your motherboard). A 60mm x 60mm heatsink is all that would fit my FIC 503+ mobo but maybe yours has more room. I can't get stability, (a relative term with VIA MVP3+ chipset, LOL), at anything above 400 Mhz (up from 350 Mhz). I tried up to 2.8 volts. I even tried an insane 7000 RPM Delta fan but 400 Mhz was my limit.
Give it a go. Keep your FSB speed at your default which should be 100 Mhz for the K6-2 400 and increase your multiplier.
I doubt you will get past 500 Mhz (5X) but who knows.
Incidentally, on the slim chance you need 6X, just set your mobo's multiplier to 2X. K6-2's remap this to 6X.
Probably not worth the investment but K6-2+ and K6-3+ are much better performers.
