AMD: Llano Is An Intel Shocker

Grr... getting fed up with this site dumping posts when you're not logged in.

Anyway, AMD have provided data. Whether you want to believe it or not is up to you. In any case, I don't think anyone here can truly believe this will do anything but incentivise Intel; it's not as if AMD can produce enough of these to really harm Intel's sales figures.

AMD will have or shall shortly be allowing reporters access to Llano as they did with Zacate and in the same manner - test what you like on our premises and we'll do whatever we can to accommodate. Notice how I said "test what you like" - when Anand found a problem with IE9 benchmarks, AMD gave him free reign over two testbeds, Zacate E-350 and i5-M 520. If there's doubt to be had, that's the way to clear things up.

🙁 Let's see the platform in the hands of an independent reviewer like Tom's or some other hardware site. Until then, I am not buying the marketing hype. AMD is just trying to bolster the "gotta have it" crowd for AMD. As I see it, until platform is on the market and it is independently reviewed, AMD can shout its the best platform on earth for power consumption / performance per watt, but to me, shouting that means that it likely is not as good as they are touting. Before you call me an intel fanboy, the only place I use intel is in a 3.1 lb laptop I bought. All four of my desktops are AMD. I'm just getting sick of AMD hyping vaporware.

Bring it on, AMD. Enough of the hype already.

I’m excited about Llano APUs, and hope them make gaming on laptops better and more affordable.
