i got my hopes up when i read the title of this article. I was hoping for news on the next phenom II cpus, either the zosma 960t or the 3.6 ghz 975. i already have a hd 5970, just waiting for the next round of amd processors to upgrade my phenom ii 940. im still happy to hear that the 6xxx series is going to come out soon. everyone who bought a gtx 480 will (probably) regret it.

At the same price AMD are the superior cpu's.

X6 1055T ~ i7 920-930
X6 1090T ~ i7 960/975 (on heavy tasks only the 980X and 970 sixcores are better

Then you have the mobo. The factor in the mobos price.

Also a more affordable X6 is comind, the Phenom II X6 1045T 2.7Ghz. Should kill 965/955 (i5 750 is alread dead).

The HD5870 was 2 billion transistors on 40nm, and the GTX480 was 3 billion transistors on 40nm. You cannot double up on the HD5870 unless you reduce size to 28nm or increase the die-size and have the fermi problem headaches.

THAT means ATI`s transistors are more efficient the Nvidia`s the Difference in FPS is Very LOw so that they don`t need the 28 NM now 😛
