Amd or nvidia ?

Hello i want to ask one question. Its about graphic card. Im so dizzy about to choose wheither amd or nvidia ? My friend say that nvidia is the best graphic card. Its that true ? I been 4 months using amd and its not bad as you all can say. I just want to know why nvidia better than amd?

Depends at the price point... IMO anything under $300 I go for AMD they pretty much offer better performance in that price range compared to Nividia.

R9 280X > GTX 770 2gb
GTX 770 4gb > R9 280X
R9 290 does not have a Nvidia counterpart at it's price point (GTX 970 is priced significantly higher, at least here in Canada)
GTX 970 > R9 290X
R9 295x2 > Titan Z

A couple years ago I'd say Nvidia all the way just because of AMD's shotty drivers. But now, performance wise, each side has a decent GPU. I think GRUxTSAR set a good quick guide as we go through price transition from the new generations being released.

You can say both company are pretty much equal in terms of performance competitiveness. It's just that nvidia are more popular leading to their dominance is market share. And in the past AMD struggle more on drivers site so it is one of the reason why people go nvidia. AMD has gotten better in that regard although it is not easy to get rid people impression about their bad drivers are.

Also most people sees AMD as value and cheaper alternative to nvidia. That's why when they try to charge premium price just because they have faster and newer card with latest tech they can't increase much of their market share despite having months of lead ahead of nvidia.
