i doubt most people would upgrade their ram afterwards. when they do, they would throw in a fresh kit as combining new and old dimms generally mean problems

i wouldnt even touch the 3350p. if you have a faulty GPU, you are left with a useless rig for up to a month

Unless you have a old pcie card, it's curious because i'd seen you recommend this very cpu over the time or the xeon, which also doesn't have the igpu.
Also toms hardware recommend it : http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-cpu-review-overclock,3106-3.html
And it was used in the 600$ build : http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/pc-gaming-overclock-build-a-pc,3443.html

And most of the active users here also recommend it, not just me, the z75 pro 3 is now the best value motherboard to recommend with it.

i have never recommended the i5 3350p. only the 3330 and the 3470

i recommended the e3 1230v2 since it performed as well as a i7 for the price of a i5. i know it doesnt have intergrated graphics but i recommended it anyways since the equivalent with graphics is 100 dollars more. in this case, the i5 3350p is 5 bucks away from the 3330. id pay it for this situation

i never liked toms hardware builds. the only one i liked was the latest 1600 dollar build.

i probably wont be recommending the z75 pro3 if the user is going with a k series CPU. the caps are total crap compared to other offerings from asus and gigabyte. id probably recommend it though if the user is going with a locked chip and will be FOR SURE getting more than 16gb of ram

-get the i5 3330 instead
-with the 15% promo code, its still 50 bucks. id rather wait a bit for ncix to restock their viper 3 ram at 38 dollars
-caviar blue price went up since newegg is sold out. go to us.ncix and it is avaliable for 69.99
-id just get a plain corsair 200R case. no one looks at their fans when they play games. there really isnt any point

I could swear that i'd seen one thread, were you listed one, but, either way, the i5-3350p is a good choice for gaming, since most don't need the igpu, it has a lower power consumption cause of that, and it's cheaper, it's a good cpu in my book.
If the op wants to add another 8GB of ram in the future he's going to need more two dimm slots, for now 8GB is more than sufficient, but it's good to leave the option open, the z75 pro 3 is cheaper than the h77 pro 4 mvp, hence it's recommended for locked cpus, the i5 mention here is partially locked, but can be raised more 400 mhz with it and the ram can be overclocked, minor stuff, but still useful.

Get the i5-3350p, you lose the combo(ram) without it, did you checked the toms hardware recommendation for the gaming cpus ?
You get a cpu that's cheaper, with lower consumption and with more clock frequency and get the z75 pro 3, for just 7$ more you get 4 dimm slots, you can't overclock with the h77 motherboard.
My suggestion : http://pcpartpicker.com/p/IfKI

You can always get the case and hdd in ncix us.

But the i5-3350p is cheaper, with lower power consumption and the cpu has the combo with the ram, so i recommended that one, he had listed the i5-3350p until you said it was crap, which isn't, the z75 pro 3 is just 7$ more but has 4 dimm slots and overclocking capabilities, just saying, in my opinion it's worth the extra for it.

The z75 pro 3 even without overclock, it's still a good board, since it has more two dimm slots and it's a atx motherboard, and it's easy to do it, he'll not get screwed with just 3.5 ghz/3.7 ghz(maximum permitted).
Dissipate your doubts here : http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/pc-gaming-overclock-build-a-pc,3443.html

"Intel's Sandy and Ivy Bridge-based Core i5 processors are well-known for their gaming prowess at reasonable prices, and the Core i5-3350P is a particularly interesting option at $180.
The P suffix is an indication that Intel disables its HD Graphics engine, but we're perfectly alright with such a decision. If you're buying a gaming processor, you're going to want discrete graphics anyway. Consequently, this CPU ducks in under 70 W."

Well i said enough, good luck with your build.

i didnt say the 3350p is crap. i said id never get it. the price, yeah probably it is 5 bucks cheaper. but on power consumption, not really. the difference is negligble unless you have a xeon with the same tdp

you ask your friend if he is going to upgrade his ram. that should be what you are supposed to do regarding on this issue

You don't need the hyper 212 evo, the stock cooler is more than sufficient, it's actually not loud, if your friend will not add anything in the future, even a b75 board will be suffice, he doesn't need the h77 then.
If you want with the igpu on the i5 : http://pcpartpicker.com/p/Ige6
If he doesn't, like i said, the i5-3350p, will be a good choice : http://pcpartpicker.com/p/Igcf
