I broke a pin replacing my AMD Phenom II X4 840T. The motherboard is an AOS F 618937-002. Is this enough information to determine what I can replace it with? I don't need awesome performance, anything comparable is fine.
Maybe a phenom ii x4 955 or 945? They're on eBay for like 50 bucks, have similar tdp, and are pretty good. However, I would get a graphics update. A 512 mb 6450 isn't good. I would get a hd 5570 if ur psu can handle it.
If you just want to make the PC working as you have a broken a pin of CPU get a AM3 cpu. The x4 phenoms or x2 or x6 which ever suits you budget.
Some AM3 motherboards esp high end ones, also support AM3+. I tried to google out data on you motherboard I was not able to find much. I will say just get a new phenom processor.
