I have a AMD Phenom (tm) 9550 quad-core processor, 2.20 GHZ, Memory RAM 6.00 GB, 64-Bit Operating System and I like to play games (Farmville). My computer lags terribly. I wondered if there is anything I upgrade or have upgraded to make this computer work faster in my game. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Ah, the aging Phenom X4 9550 is still in use. Good to hear. It's an oldie by today's standards.
For gaming, you need a powerful gfx card. You don't list which card you are using. Please list it and the PSU you have. The make/model and quality of the PSU will determine the power of the gfx card you can use.

If you need to upgrade the CPU too, that will be determined by the motherboard you have. If it is a retail board, please list it also. If the board sits in an OEM pre-built PC, then you will have to search the manufacturer's site for the CPUs they allow the board to support.

To get video card info:
Click Start.
On the Start menu, click Run.
In the Open box, type "dxdiag" (without the quotation marks), and then click OK.
The DirectX Diagnostic Tool opens. Click the Display tab.
On the Display tab, information about your graphics card is shown in the Device section. You can see the name of your card, as well as how much video memory it has.

Power supply is tougher. If you bought this PC pre-built (from HP, Lenovo, Dell, etc.) then just post the full model number and people will figure out what power supply you have. If you have a custom built system you can look at the case where the power cord plugs into the PC and see if there is a brand name and model number showing.

p.s. that CPU uses a TON of power ... 220W.

This is what I found.

You can definitely use a faster gfx card than the HD 3450 with that old CPU. But we need to know the wattage of your PSU. Look at the PSU nameplate. Or post a pic of it here.

It is on the side of the PSU. If your PSU is top mounted in the case, there's a chance the nameplate is on the side facing the wrong way.
If finding the nameplate fails, tell us the make and model of your PC.
