Hey Baron,
Wasup!
How are things?
How is AMD doing? They all right?
1.8 Bills in Convertible Senior Notes, Is that good?
.5 Mill going back to Morgan Stanley? Is that good?
I am not sure that borrowing money to pay back money is a good Idea?
I foresee a Bankruptcy in the future.
Not that it is a bad thing if it helps AMD shed some debt.
It is NOT likely that AMD/ATI will fire sale assets.
You might find that a post Bankruptcy AMD is quite lean and mean.
Hector will be gone of course (asked to step down nicely). A new/interim CEO (although they will not call him/her an interim) will be appointed. You can call this person a turn around CEO. People will be fired, many employees (good or not at what they do) will be laid off. Enter new "post interim" CEO with a long term vision already laid out for them.
And from what appear to be ashes will rise a stronger (less debt) meaner (very focused on core "pun intended" business only) AMD. They will likely keep their brand name for brand recognition purposes unless upon inspection of the books they find fraud.
Also, please be advised that this may position post bankruptcy AMD for a buyout/purchase/takeover since their financial position post bankruptcy will be much better.
Just my delve into the future.
