AMD processor stuck running at 900 mHz

Hey there,
So, I have this new Samsung laptop here, with an AMD A6-4400M processor that should run up to 2.7 GHz, with turbo up to 3.2. However, it only ever runs at 900 MHz, with a constant multiplier of 9 and bus speed of 100 MHz. So far, I've tried changing the power settings to always run cpu at 100% and looking in the BIOS for an option to change it (there wasn't one). This is a fairly annoying problem, since I can't run anything cpu intensive. I've seen problems like this posted on here, but none that have helped my problem. Thanks in advance!

Also, since it probably helps, here's a CPU-Z screenshot.

Motherboard only use one core maybe ... As i said several times, you should just get it back to the store instead of trying to repair it ...

Did you go in the bios and tried searching for an option to change the multiplier ? Look for options like "eco friendly" and stuff like that and disable them. Look at every options and if you think it's useless, disable it. If you don't know what it is, keep it like that. It happens to a lot of people here, all Amd's ...

I've checked the BIOS, and there are no options for any of that. In fact, the only options I can change are the date/time, and a few battery and boot options. The other options are all locked, and don't pertain to the CPU anyways. 🙁

I'm out of Brownies now ...

That's what i thought at first but only moving the mouse should be outting the multiplier up which didn't happen in his case ... I am right alwaysthemea ?

Yup. The speed doesn't change for anything. It's really frustrating me, I've been looking for an answer for nearly a week.

Get it back to the store, that's the only thing you could possibly do. I won't risk myself in a laptop so i won't make anyone to do it. Don't forget to get all your data before bringing it back.

Yeah, I know, but why doesn't it ever change? It should be working hard when I have 2 games, several chrome tabs, iTunes, Steam, and monitoring programs all trying to do things at the same time. It should be running at 2.7 GHz by then.

In case either of you gets to see this, I took it to Geek Squad at Best Buy and got some good help from a nice guy who spent hours rooting around trying to figure out what it was. After lots of trial and error style diagnosing, we discovered it was a Samsung preinstalled updater calld SW Update. For some unknown reason, that was underclocking the processor all the time, except in Safe Mode, where it didn't load. After uninstalling that updater and restoring the computer, all was well, and here I am, typing this while my processor runs around 2.5 GHz. Thanks again for the help!
