Currently, my CPU is set to 4.2GHz. But I was told that with "Boost," the CPU can reach and sustain 5GHz. When I asked how to boost the CPU, I was told that the CPU boots itself when under load. Frankly, I don't know if that is true, so I'm asking. And if it is false, how can I boost the CPU to 5GHz?

Hey there,

So, all you need to do is go into your bios, and turn PBO on. Once you've done that, save and exit, and your CPU should now boost to it's boost clocks, depending on the load.

PBO = Precision boost overdrive.

The option will be in your motherboards bios menu. Turn it on, and then test again.
