AMD R9 Series Prices??!?

So when the R9 series of Radeon's released, I waited for some custom coolers and benchmarks to appear for the 290's and 280X's before I bought one. I'm ready to buy now but the prices have fukin increased 150$!!!! Anyone know why? and when they might come down to their ORIGINAL MSRP?

Really pissed. Would go back to Nvidia but my 120hz monitor is AMD only. /sadface

Apparently because of cryptominers, so much demand that AMD just raised the price because people will still buy them.

Also what 120Hz monitor is AMD only? Sounds like nonsense.

you dont know much about 120hz monitors do you. for 120hz theyre either AMD or NVIDIA.

You clearly don't know much about anything, 120Hz is a property of the monitor and will work on any GPU provided it has a port capable of running it, the monitor is only accepting a signal it doesn't have a clue what GPU is powering it. The 3D however may be exclusive to AMD.

They loosely follow the price of litecoin. But its hard to say for sure.

But to the OP, you are misinformed.

For 3d that may be true. But for 120 hz, there is no technical reason why AMD and NVidia will not work on the same monitor
