AMD Radeon HD 8750M wont work.

Hi.

I've just got a new Samsung 3-series NP370R5E SOA5E ultrabook. It came with an AMD Radeon HD 8750M and the integrated Intel Graphics HD 4000. The computer worked fine until I started playing some demanding games. The pc will only show the Intel card. Anyway i tried playing games. But the graphics was very bad and then I searched the web for help. It says that I should maximize performence on power, and set high performence on my demanding games. But it didn't help. I've also tried to download GPU - Z and it shows my graphic card, but with incorrect clock speed. There is also no drivers in SW Update. So is there any other alternatives than wait for a driver to my graphic card? Because im not sure how long that will take.

Since it used to work and not anymore, I would RMA it for repairs, the GPU must of fried.

I think that the problem has been there since i got it, and I've also tried to send it into repair, and the company couldn't fix it.

What games? Some of these "auto-switch" graphics don't switch for everygame and you have you to some editing/hacking to get them to work. Nothing wrong with the laptop, just bad in detecting that a game is playing and switching the video. On HP laptops that had the problem, it was OpenGL games that didn't work with the dedicated card and would only work with Intel graphics.

The game I am playing is Elder Scrolls Skyrim with Steam. Under options it only shows Intel card. I will try finding a game not from Steam and test it🙂

It's my thread with the same issue, but I figured it out. I explained there what did I do to make it work. Hope it works for you too.

You basically need the latest Intel driver, AMD'S 13.6 Beta2 (clean install, using RevoUnistaller Pro) and to disable/re-enable .NET Framework 2 through 4.5

hello, I have a HP probook 470 and have the same issue. I have done many clean installs on windows 7 ultimate and home premium, but it's not working.
13.6 drivers recognize my card as an 8600/8700 in the device manger, but still in the ccc it's only the hd4000. I'm desperate about now after 10 hours of tring to solve this. Please help.

What can I say. Basically make sure to have the very latest Intel GPU driver. Reinstall DirectX and disable/re-enable .NET Framework from Unistall Programs. Then install the latest AMD driver, even if it's beta. 13.8 Beta, I think.

I've done all that. I can choose to run applications on high performance via ccc but still using hwmonitor I see that when I start the application it's the hd4000 that get't turned on and the temp is measured there. The 8750m just isn't anywhere except in the device manager. I can't understant whats going on.
