Hello,

I have a R7 200 series and I've noticed for the past month or so that the screen will flick lines up for a second or two and will go back to normal, this is regardless of me playing games, browsing the net etc. I've tried cleaning it, uninstalling the drivers and deleting then from the pc. The card is fairly new, we didn't have a problem with it before though. Any suggestions?

I've asked on the AMD forums... no reply.

Thanks in advance

Sorry I'm only just replying.

What output are you using from the card (VGA, DVI, HDMI or Displayport)? DVI

Are you using any adapters? No Adapters

How long is the cable? Not sure but it is long enough, it's plugged in well.

What resolution and refresh rate are you using? 1920x1080 - 60 Hertz

The question on cable length was not that it could be too short, but that it could be too long. Anything over 3 meters can be problematic.

The answers to your other questions rule out those possibilities.
If you can connect this monitor and cable to another PC and the issue does not occur, that would rule out the cable and monitor.
Do a search on driver removal utilities. Display drivers leave rubbish lying around both on the file system and the registry. Completely removing these and reinstalling the drivers is a good idea.

Oh no it's not the cable, this problem only started happening just over two months ago. I'll try what you've advised though. Thanks for trying to help :)

Did you try replacing the cable coming from the pc to your monitor/tv? I've had a poor quality HDMI and a damaged serial & cat5 do strange/inconsistent things to my monitor or other devices.. it flickers or it will change the entire screen to a yellow hue. Cords are often overlooked as they usually aren't the cause...But given your options and what you've already tried, I'd say give that a shot. Just borrow one from a friend or coworker or something so you wont waste your money testing this solution.. or just keep your walmart receipt. lets try this cheap easy thing before we try more complicated stuff. and i suggest backing up any important documents or settings ...ya NEVER know

I'll give that ago thanks, I do have spares, I tried uninstalling the driver from the pc, reg etc. I found something online that does it, but no it's still doing it. So I'll try switching cables now while I remember and see if that's the problem. Thanks :)

Could this be a problem with the monitor because it's still doing it?
