Hello everyone,

Ever since I've installed the AMD Radeon R9 270 to my pc i get a lot of crashes, blue screens and from time to time my fps drops randomly, also the card gets very hot. I've currently taken it out so I can write in the forum. I don't know if the card is broken/ faulty or just my pc can't handle it however I have recently updated my pc so it should be working fine.

Here is what I have:
Motherboard: http://uk.msi.com/product/mb/B85MG43.html#hero-overview
Processor: http://ark.intel.com/products/75048/Intel-Core-i5-4670K-Processor-6M-Cache-up-to-3_80-GHz
Power Supply: http://www.awd-it.co.uk/cit-700w-black-edition-pc-power-supply-psu-model-700ub.html
Memory: 8.00GB (7.87 Usable)
System Type: 64Bit Operating System

If there is any more information that is needed please let me know!

The XFX 550w will even be fine with an R9 280X! You are very safe with this power supply, do not worry.

Just try to install the power supply suggested and see if your problems disappear. If the problems are still persistent, we'll still try and help you solve your issues. You can't go wrong with the power supply though, even if you didn't have problems a replacement would still be recommended.

Let us...

everything looks okey i have the same graphic card as you mine is asus amd r9 270x and my procesor and ram are lower than yours so i think its your driver problem or your operative system... what operative system you have?

Higher wattage doesn't mean better quality power supply.

It's a crap unit, ofcourse it can cause problems.

You sure you are capable to assist him?

dude amd r9 200 needs at least 560w and higher like 270 need 600w hes
psu is good

There is much more to a power supply than its rated wattage. 700W is way more than plenty, even 600W is not actually necessary. The problem with bad power supply brands is that they often exaggerate the wattage the power supply can actually deliver. It's not unusual for a so-called 700W unit to die when you pull 450W from it. So a quality 500W power supply would be much better.

power suply cant cause blue screen of death

if he gets 550w on 270 kiss hes computer goodbye he needs at least 600w or up

So If I bought this power supply and we say that it still does the same thing. What would be the problem then? Also I don't really have much knowledge about performance however I am currently studying right now. Is 550W enough?

Also i do know that high wattage doesn't mean much I'm more interested in the power of the supply rather than how much wattage it has.

Please stop the useless misinformation.

Here is how much power a system with an R9 270 actually draws:

your missing procesor and motherboard my friend 😉

I saw that to, the "total part". Sidik thanks for trying to help however please do read what people post properly before you answer, I don't mean to be rude.
I'm really grateful for all your help. This has been the fastest reply I have ever received. So buying what RCFprod suggested would be more than enough for the system I have?

Ok thanks again, I will buy the power supply you have suggested and install it into my pc. Once I have done this I will post back here.

Before I do, is there any suggested sites I should buy a good quality one? I will use either amazon or ebay.

Do research before posting!

OP start with the PSU because your unit is crap any way but most of the time when I see your issues they are caused by a bad card.
