News AMD Radeon RX 8800 XT has a 220W TDP according to Seasonic's online PSU calculator — two 8-pin power plugs required, it says

220W is closer to 35% less than the 7900XTX TDP of 350W, but the leaker said it was going to 25% lower or around 260-270W.

If they can achieve same ratser as 7900XTX, 45% stronger RTing, at 220W and say $600, they will not keep up with demand for the next 12 months.

I just hope it's AI performance is massively improved, they need the equivalent of Tensor cores.

AMD will have something better than tensor cores, they will have elevensor cores! Why? Because “it goes up to eleven!”

I highly doubt that a 8800xt will be as fast as a RTX 4080 at that level of wattage. I don't think the next Radeon GPU is going to be that much more efficient.

But we'll find out soon.

If it is as fast as a 4080 I don't think they're going to sell it for $500. That would be so stupid as a business.

It's good to grab market share but not that kind of performance at that price point.

Maybe sell a 8700xt if it's at 4070 super performance at $500. That would make more business sense.
