Hello guys ,I recently bougth a used Afox RX 580 2048SP (8GB GDDR5) but it seems to be very limited, and I don't really know why. Here’s what’s happening:
If you need any more information I'll try to give it
Any help diagnosing this would be greatly appreciated
GPU-Z of my GC
Symptoms
- GPU-Z/HWInfo Data:
- Core voltage (VDDC) drops to 0.794V idle, max 1.081V under load, should be around 1.15V I think.
- Power draw caps at 35W-43W (expected: ~150W).
- Clocks stuck at 300MHz (base: 1286MHz) but sometimes for a second jumps to 1000+ without reason, it just does.
- PCIe link: x8 1.1 (sometimes jumps to x8 3.0, then back).
- Temperatures abnormally low (35°C under load (15 minutes of Furmark running 1080p if it doesn't crash)), suggesting GPU isn’t working fully.
- For some reason Furmark crashes and AMD Adrenalin gives me a warning
Troubleshooting Done
- Reinstalled drivers with DDU (AMD Adrenalin 25.8.1).
- Tested different computers(Mine: Asus PRIME A320M-K, Ryzen 5 3400G, PSU: Gigabyte P550SS 80+ Silver || My brother's: Asus A320M-H, Ryzen 5 2600, PSU: some Gigabyte 650W +80 Gold).
- Cleaned PCIe slot/contacts, reseated GPU.
Suspected Causes
- Mining BIOS: GPU is a used Afox model (likely reflashed).
- BIOS version: 015.050.002.001.000000 (Device ID: 1002 6FDF).
- Hardware issue: Faulty VRMs or desoldered components from mining abuse(??).
Questions
- BIOS: Is this a mining BIOS? Can anyone recommend a stable OEM BIOS for this card?
- Voltage: Why is VDDC so low? Is this a BIOS limit or hardware failure?
If you need any more information I'll try to give it
