The other difference is that the 6870 is a little cheaper.

So you have to decide if the price difference is worth the performance difference.

You should be comparing 6950 1GB vs. GTX560ti, they are in the same price bracket. AMD made 6950 1GB to counter the GTX560ti.

Actually 6950 1GB is a bit cheaper, and faster than GTX560ti. The 2GB 6950's make quick work of even the GTX570 in single, SLI and Tri-SLI.

Depends on what performance you're looking for.

And like Geek said, the 6950 is the competition for the 560. They're very close but the 6950 tends to do a tad better. The only thing to choose between the two is Green or Red.

if you're gonna do crossfire then i would use the hd 6870 but if you're just gonna do 1 GPU then i would use the 560ti. also since the 560 is already 230 after rebates at newegg might as well get an ASUS OC 560 to 900mhz for like 240 after rebates http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121425

or you can get a GIGABYTE 560ti oc to 1000mhx for like 270.

That would be really dumb considering $240 is HD6950 2GB price range and we all know the 2GB takes down GTX570.

However, at 1400x900 even a GTX460 would be major overkill. Poster needs to tell us his system specs, all of them.

I have a feeling his cpu isn't fast enough for any of these cards if he's running that resolution and he hasn't mentioned his power supply make and model either, so hard to make ANY recommendation without knowing these things.

What I should have said is 6950 2GB cards hold off the GTX570's in SLI, and own the more expensive GTX570's in 3 way SLI/Xfire.

Heh, 6870s are only 180-200$, while cheapest 560Tis are 240$ and are only 10% faster, so i fail to see how 560 destroyed 6870.

6870 CF is more or less the same as 560Ti SLi. That Asus card is really nice, but if OP wants a card with higher price vs performance then he should go for 6870.

OP: For your resolution i highly recommend HD5850 *it also is an overkill, but will save you some money, while keeping the performance high*, which is only 150$ these days and after OC can reach 6870's performance levels, can you please list your other system specs?

Price to performance, the hd6950 wins, but if they went head to head, the GTX 570s would win. The scaling wasn't as good, but the extra performance gain made it win.

Shrkbay, I saw the GTX 560 Ti for $200 last time, but I didn't know the prices went up. I would get the HD6870 at those prices.
