Hi everyone,

I recently installed Windows 10 Pro 64 bit. I seem to recall that AMD had a utility for Windows that you could use to set up failure notifications, etc. and I can't seem to find it anywhere online. Does anyone know where I can download it? My motherboard is an Asus M5A97 LE R2.0 board. If you need more info, I will happily provide it.

Thanks for your time!

RAIDXpert, that was it! I knew it had some silly name like that, but I couldn't think of it off the top of my head. Although I recommend anyone grab the driver direct from amd.com. You never know what kind of shenanigans are involved with those third party sites.

In either case, if you go to AMD's site, it's located under Chipset Drivers. Just make sure you choose the correct chipset type and operating system. If you're running the same hardware as me, here you go:

Thanks alexoiu!

Alright, I figured I should follow up a little further for those who come across this thread via Google or whatever. The good news is that I ultimately got it all figured out.

When downloading the RAIDXpert driver from AMD's website, it would not install. After doing tons of research and trying many different things, I decided to turn to AMD Support for help.

Here's the exchange that took place:

Dear Sean,

Your service request : SR #{ticketno:[8200736892]} has been reviewed and updated.

Response and Service Request History:

I understand that one of your hard drives has failed and you would like to install or update RaidXpert software using Windows 10. If this is incorrect, please let me know as the information provided may change.

Thank you for your email.

There are no Raid drivers or RaidXpert software updates available that support Windows 10. Promise RaidXpert driver and software support for your Chipset ended with Windows 8.

If you roll back your Operating System to Windows 7, this should allow you to install the RaidXpert software and rebuild your array with your replacement hard drive.

Please be advised that this service request will be permanently closed if you do not reply within 10 days. If more time is needed to respond to my e-mail above, please let me know and I will ensure that this service request remains open for you.

In order to update this service request, please respond, leaving the service request reference intact.

Subject: RaidXpert Not Installing (Error 182)
Hi, I am running Windows 10 Pro 64 bit with the following hardware: AMD FX 8350 CPU Asus M5A97 LE R2.0 Motherboard AMD Radeon HD 7950 Graphics Card 2 Hard Drives in RAID 1 mode I'm trying to get the RaidXpert software installed. It worked under Windows 7, but everytime I try to install the drivers in 10, I get the following message: "Error 182 - AMD Installer cannot properly identify the AMD graphics hardware). This makes no sense, the graphics drivers are already installed, I just need to install the RaidXpert software. I downloaded it from here: http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/chipset?os=Windows+10+-+64 How can I fix this? A drive recently failed and I need to get my data back in RAID mode ASAP. Thank you. Regards, Sean

Unfortunately, it appears that the Promise is no longer developing the drivers. It doesn't seem to me that Windows 7, 8 and 10 are too dissimilar, so I came up with another idea. I found my old Asus disk that came with my motherboard and decided to install those drivers to see if it would work. It did! Once I installed them, I was able to head to http://localhost:25902/amd/login.jsp to login and rebuild my RAID array.

If you have your old motherboard driver disk around , I suggest you try using that. If your setup is like mine, I will upload the drivers from my disk here. Your mileage may differ should you choose to install this on different hardware, I take no responsibility for any damage. (It really shouldn't matter, the driver is directly from AMD and doesn't appear to have any modifications.) That said, have at it and good luck!
