So I'm trying to decide which graphics card to buy for my new gaming PC. I'm only going to be gaming at 1080p as I have come from an old laptop in which I have only ever been able to reach 720p at best. So, I am considering the RX 480 and the GTX 1060. The RX 480 seems like a better deal as it performs well, is cheaper and many people are saying that AMD has better DX12 support and so better future proofing. However, I want to be recording a lot of the time during gameplay. I know that Nvidia has shadowplay and the Nvidia codec which I know doesn't have a large hit to performance, which is important as I don't want to have to reduce settings while recording just to keep similar FPS to when I'm not. But I don't know if AMD has anything similar which also only has a small performance impact. I have seen many people saying that AMD VCE with OBS gives similar performance, but then others say there is a huge hit to FPS. I don't want to take risks and I'd rather go for the GTX 1060 because I know that shadowplay and the Nvidia codec work and are pretty good, but if I know that there is a way of getting good performance while recording then I'd definitely go for the AMD card. So is there a definite way of recording with the RX 480 that docent give a large FPS drop? Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Amd has the raptr app. That has a recording option and it has very low impact (about 3-5% fps decrease the same with the old shadowplay / new whatever they call it now). However if you are going to record I recommend a serparate recording hdd/ssd where the footage will be thrown on as gaming and recording with the same drive results in a lot of loading issues and generally weird bugs in games due to high hdd usage. Also can you post the rest of your system (do you already have it or are you going to buy it?).
