I've been having problems with my motherboard, I've posted about this before, and the time has come to get ahold of AMD for RMA. I have two questions:
1. If you've RMA'd your motherboard through AMD, do they allow reverse shipping (they send the replacement first then you send your's back to them)?
2. If they do not do reverse shipping, would there be any issues to purchasing another MB as a spare/replacement until the original comes back from RMA?

Solution
1) It's not an AMD board. It's an AMD socket installed onto a Gigabyte, ASUS, ASRock, MSI, EVGA, etc... motherboard. The RMA process and shipping details are going to be different for each manufacturer.

2) The issue with using a replacement motherboard is that the OS is looking for your old hardware. Finding a new motherboard may result it blue screens/system crashes. Additionally, If your OS is an OEM version, it's tied to the original motherboard and Windows will not activate.

Solution
Your best option here is to just wait until you receive the replacement or repaired motherboard. If you purchase a temporary board for use until your original comes back, Microsoft may require that you purchase a new windows license when either:

a) You install Windows on the temp motherboard (as your license is tied to the faulty one).
b) You install Windows on the repaired/replacement motherboard (as your license is tied to the temporary one).
