I don't understand it MG I wrote your name in for President and you didn't win I was shocked. I kept watching for the picture of the mad baby to pop up as the projected winner and it never happened. Ah well they legalized pot instead of electing you I feel so torn.... ;~^o

And a $10 cut is exactly what they planned.

I'm actually surprised it's panning out exactly like that at retail, considering how pricing has been all over the place this generation.

Well, the 4GB versions of the RX 470 and 480 have been great deals from the get-go IMO.

Which reminds me... I haven't been following stock for RX480s nor RX470s. Since I haven't read any complaints about them not being available, I would imagine the channels have them on decent quantities?

Cheers!

All the GPUs are showing better inventory than any time before. Now we just need people to buy them!

I wish I hadn't bought my card before with what I could get with the same money this year, lol. However I have really enjoyed it and I haven't had any game give me any issues.

yah it does seem like stock is there for all the various cards and brands. holiday sales of course will tax the supply but that is normal and expected.

looking forward to getting my new card(s) this season depending on the sale prices.

the XFX GTR seems to be an absolute beast and has a dual bios and good VRM, the strix has a slightly better VRM, but it is really not needed, and it does not have a dual bios. what do you mean by overclocking? if you want to go Bios mods and LN2 I would get the GTR, for really heavy overclocking the strix is fine, but the lack of dual bios is a bit of an issue considering you need it for voltage offset (more voltage) and power limits. (of course if you never botch a bios flash it does not matter but it is easy to botch one)

The power efficiency of RX480 is quite an interesting topic- essentially it looks like AMD's initial binning was really 'lax' and that the GPU design is *capable* of pretty impressive (as good / better than nVidia Pascal) power numbers *if* it's a high enough quality die...

This guy does a review of Polaris- note that he has 3 RX 480 gpu's running at stock, with GPU (not whole board to be clear) power consumption running at 120W, 105W and 85W all at the same level of performance.

He also manages to recreate the Polaris 11 demo AMD showed with the total board power running lower than the GTX 950 with a little tweaking to voltages / speeds.

No idea what this is about, or for, or how it works, this is the 1st I've ever heard of it.

Sounds like I'm signing up to have my computer be a BOT for someone to use as they see fit. I don't feel comfortable with that.

well they are sending your PC information, and having it do work for them, but this is an undertaking by Stanford, the idea might sound odd at first, but the whole idea is to use your computer for good when you are not using it. if this were some malicious bot, people would have found out.

F@H is managed by Stanford University. You're not just lending your computer resources to a bunch of randoms.
