AMD RX Vega64 and a GTX 1070 on the same machine

I recently got an RX Vega64 but I still have a perfectly good 1070 that I have no intention of selling or getting rid of but is alas collecting dust. How might I use them on the same machine? Running Win10 with the most recent updates at time of writing. I only have one monitor and no readily available space for another.

I will be using them separately. The cards won't run at the same time during a game. I want to be able to set one as default for certain things and the other for normal use and other games.

But.... why? What can there 1070 do that the vega64 can't?


Also, FYI, the Vega64 is about 15% faster than the GTX1070 (while consuming about 85% more power without undervolting)

All of this I know. I did my research when looking to upgrade the 1070. Some games like Elite Dangerous are optimized for NVIDIA and also VMs I run also need a head to run with. I'm a newb when it comes to VMs and using two GPUs. My research goes dead when I try to look for how to put them into the same machine. In my mind I ought to be able to switch between them like you can switch between integrated and discrete graphics on a laptop.

Unfortunately it doesn't work like that. You will have hardware and driver conflicts

Just use the Vega 64.. sell the GTX 1070 and buy something to add to the overall PC experience... better speakers or mechanical keyboard or gaming mouse etc
