Amd ryzen 3 2200g or 5 1500x?

I'm planning on building my first gaming pc and I'm not sure wich cpu to use, the ryzen 3 2200g or the ryzen 5 1500x. I've seen benchmarks that are about the same so I don't get wich one is better... Also the benchmarks of the 2200g are better than the benchmarks of the 1200 and the 1300x wich confuses me to...

Get the 1500X, after overclocking the single/quad core performance will be similar but the 1500X does have the extra 4 threads for multitasking.

The Ryzen 3 2200G is the replacement for the first gen Ryzen entire Ryzen 3 line up. It is clocked higher and has integrated graphics that make for a good budget gaming PC. It has 4 cores but no SMT (AMD's version of hyperthreading).

The Ryzen 5 1500X is a 4 core chip with SMT, giving it 8 threads. It is clocked faster too and reaches a higher turbo speed. It does not have integrated graphics. However, it is slightly less efficient than the 2200G.

As long as you have a reasonably powerful video card, go with the 1500X. It will offer similar performance in most games, but in any that respond well to more cores it will offer more performance.

Is the difference worth the extra money, or is it to small? I'm pairing it with a gtx 1060 6gb and 8gb or ram wich I'm going to upgrade later.

Well the 1500X is similar to my 4770K (<slightly faster performance) and it should last another 2 years or so for higher end gaming. I think going with a 4 core currently would be a bad decision as were starting to see more games utilizing more cores.

In this situation the 1500X is probably your best bet. My advice is to Pay $40-50 more and get a i5 8400. I guess the MOBO may cost a little bit more, too, but the added performance over the long run is well worth it.

+1, the 8400 is a good option paired with a H310 motherboard to save some money and it outperforms the 2200G/1500X.

I'd agree with this. You can also go with a lower speed RAM like a 2400 or 2666 as the Intel chips are less affected by RAM speeds to recoup some of the cost.
