I was just sitting in Bios, and I saw the temperature gradually rise to 80C, but I powered down the PC before it could go much higher. The CPU fan remained at 0 RPM all throughout. I know that the CPU fan does spin and is recognized, because in Post the fan spins and stops. Is there a reason why the CPU fan isn't spinning?

I haven't put Windows on yet. This is a new build, I was just checking BIOS before putting in the USB drive. I"ll try giving the fan a flick and see!

There was a cable in the way, so I just took it out and it works now xD
Thanks!

For some reason in Windows my temp app shows my CPU can not going, but it is definitely going and shows up in BIOS, plus I took the side off and could see it going. You could possibly have a fan going bad or a bad sensor on the MB. I would try a different fan first if it was me. You shouldn't be getting to 80 degrees just in BIOS. Without overclocking I see a lot of people hovering around the 60ish temp, and that is doing stuff and idle temps in the 30s. In BIOS you should be seeing idle temps. If it is actually getting to 80 then you likely need a new fan. The stock Wraith cooler actually works pretty well, better than many after market coolers from what I have read. So if you have an after market cooler, try the stock one and see what happens.
