[SOLVED] AMD Ryzen 5 4600H vs Intel i5 9300h

Hey Guys,
I am planning to buy a laptop and I am quite confused between AMD Ryzen 4600h and Intel i5 9300h. Ofcourse, according to the specs Ryzen clearly outperforms i5. But some of my friends told me that Ryzen faces overheating issues, So I can't decide which one to go with.

In this range, Common Specs that are offered are:
RAM- 8 GB DDR4 2666/3200 mhz
GPU- GTX 1650 ti 4 GB

So, Which processor should I prefer?

The Ryzen 5 4600H is quite a bit faster and I expect it to run even cooler(with a similar thermal solution) than the 9300H as it's build on the 7nm process compared to the Intel 14nm+++++++++++++++ .

The Ryzen is more power efficient compared to the Intel.

The 4600H is the clear choice for me.

The 4000 series is faster and runs cooler. However you must be careful when choosing a laptop. I’ve seen reviews of a few AMD laptops running hot, this is not because the cpu runs hot but because the manufacturer has cheaped out on the cooling solution. There are plenty on Intel laptops that are terrible for overheating and thermal throttling. Bottom line is you cannot choose a laptop just based on a list of components, you need to find good detailed reviews where they have tested it.

Agree with sizzling, different manufacturers have different cooling solutions and may have different locked down tdp limits depending on the actual model.

You need to compare actual models of laptop not just the chipset/cpu.
