Hey guys, I'm having problems with ryzen temperatures. I'm using a strix x370 f gaming, ryzen 7 1800x, and a nzxt kraken x62. My problem is that for some reason, the temperatures reported seem very low. On cam software its reporting 2 C. On aida64 its also producing strange numbers. On ryzen master the temperatures are in the negatives. In BIOS the temperature seems to be ok (around 32 C idle). I'm not quite sure what I need to do to fix this. I would like to try overclocking, but I want to make sure my temperatures are actually ok before doing so. Any help is really appreciated.

I feel like I've heard of this happening when Ryzen first launched. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't this something AMD did to trick the CPU into thinking it was cooler than it actually was to prevent it from thermal throttling? I am not 100% on this.

The first thing I would try would be a BIOS update.

I just updated the BIOS. Aida is still producing around the same numbers, ryzen master is now not producing negatives as often ( more like moving between 2C and -2 C) and CAM is now reporting 3 C. Is there something I'm missing? I don't understand why BIOS is reporting the closest temperature values to normal but then once I boot in I can't get an accurate temperature from anything.

Under load using prime 95 I'm getting around 25 C on aida and HWiNFO64, on CAM I'm getting 4 C.

Alright, I'm going to try reinstalling everything. If that doesn't work, I suppose my best bet would be to try to rma the mobo and get a new one?

yeah that's my bad. I was talking about core temp. Thanks for the help

I just contacted asus, they recommended that I use AISuite3, using that I'm getting temperatures of around 25C. I'm not sure if this is a normal idle temp, the rep made it sound like it but I'm not sure truly.

Turns out the cpu was faulty. I just replaced it with another 1800x and in Bios I'm getting a temperature reading of 45C (An actual reasonable temp). Now I have to figure out why when I boot into the os the temperatures are still low (not as low as with the other cpu)
