Amd Ryzen issue

So I just got my 1700 today, and in excitement I threw my build all together. And then I clicked my power button, and no post. The debug led is saying no CPU or ram detected, but there is most certainly both in. The CPU is also producing heat. Any ideas of whats going on?

AMD R7 1700
Stock cooler
MSI b350 tomahawk
Kingston hyper X RAM 8GB (1x8GB)
1TB Seagate drive
480GB SanDisk SSD
GTX 1070
(Other tested GPUs include GTX 750ti and GTX 950)
Thermaltake versa C22 RGB snow edition
EVGA 500watt PSU

is it ddr3 or ddr4 ram ( confirm it )
and if its ddr4 then its okey and try clearing cmos using jumper/switch ( consult board manual to know how to do it ).

Are you able to access the BIOS? If so, set your memory speed at 2133 (not higher).

Also, this motherboard only works with DDR4 memory.

What is the model of your memory? Also, what slot do you have it installed in?

I can't access the BIOS. The RAM is DDR4. It's kingston Hyper X black. I've tried it in all slots.

I've got FURY Memory Black - 8GB Module - DDR4 2400MHz CL15 DIMM. I've done everything on that list.

Nope, no beeps, I don't know how to reset the bios on this mobo

To reset BIOS:

- Disconnect all power sources: Power cable, display, powered speakers.
- Remove the motherboard "coin" battery (remember which side goes up).
- Press the power button to discharge any residual power in the system.
- Wait a minute or two.
- Replace the battery and reconnect all things previously disconnected. The BIOS will now be reset.

I had already done that.

I would remove the motherboard at this point and double check your mounting points (stand-offs) and the ATX panel (a.k.a. I/O plate) to look for any short conditions.

I would also remove the CPU and check for bent/damaged/missing pins.

Other than a warm CPU, do you detect any other signs of life? Also, are all of these parts new, or did you re-use some from an earlier build?

Everything lights up, fans turn on etc. etc. No bent pins, the only used part is the GPU and RAM, but the GPU is fine, Unsure about RAM, will probably stop by a PC shop on the way home and grab some DDR4 and see if it works. At this point I think the Mobo or CPU is DOA.

it came out of a system running an i7-6700k and a gigabyte h110 mobo. ( https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128873 this one to be specific.)

I preordered mine and it came like 2 days after launch but I didn't get around to assembling it until Friday

Just checked Newegg site, sounds like almost all of of the MSI b350 tomahawk mobos are DOA or die after a day or 2.

There have been some issues with some Ryzen mobos. There have also been issues with memory compatibility and operating at higher speeds. This is all "normal" new tech angst, to a degree.

I went with the 1800x and Asus ROG Crosshair VI Hero. I do look forward to getting it setup and running.
