DVD your last post was a perfect example.

So you hate Dell (capitalized by the way since it is the name of a company). Tell me why in an intelligent manner. Find sites other than IHateDell.com to back it up. Make a sensible not inflammatory comment on why. Do your homework and try to understand why you hate them and if it even makes any sense.

Grammar is spelled “GRAMMAR” not grammer (note the red squiggles in Word when you try to type it).

Why is Verizon (again capitalized for naming) bad (note the question mark at the end of this sentence)?

Just so you know most techno people have issues with grammar and spelling as we have been reliant on out PCs to correct us. I can type all day while coding and not have many issues with syntax. But I really have to think about my grammar while posting in forums like this one.

I often have spelling errors due to my typing … Type long enough and that happens. The triple … is a little convention we can get away with on the Internet.

I guess it comes down to “think before you post”.

Try to help someone out instead of bringing people down.

"1.ches i really hate dell
2.I am workin on my grammer
3.verizon is crap too i know"

i guess he skimmed over the beginning of each paragraph

in reply to #1 - is there a valid reason yet? or are u still thinking of somthing?

ill just put in .02 cents about verizon (because dvd will just say "i hate them") i love their cell phones/service, i get more bars than friends who have cingular and that other major one that i dont even remember right now. 😛... but i wouldnt use there high speed internet because ive heard its not very fast and isnt as reliable as charter, this was a while ago, it may have improved, maybe u could shed some light on me about verizons broadband compared to charter?

Parlee,

You could use the Word trick too. It is actually a nice way to learn and it keeps your posts looking good.

I do not do this trick anymore because I like to try to catch my own errors (that is why you see alot of my posts edited). If I find mispellings or a misuse of grammar I try to correct it right away. Just my way of working on my own short comings.

1.Parlee i dont like verizon cause they screwed me on dsl service
2.at&t is bad too they once charged my dad 400$ for early cancellation when in the contract it cleary stated that if you are not satisfied cancel anytime
3.have you ever been to a dell kiosk tryin to get a refund for your freinds computer cause they would'nt give it to him

damn 2nd time a post has been submitted twice. like i said to dvd before i dont really have time to check my grammer and the fact that im lazy and dont really care how it looks, as long as my point gets across (it usually does.. i know i tend to ramble though, maybe ill work on that) right now theres nothing to do at work, but im still typing like this because im used to it, this is how i type on aim, in games, on forums. the only time i type formal is for reports in school. its too much effort to type with proper grammer when theres no reason to other than flames from people i dont know. when people comment on it it makes me want to type like this to piss them off. but im sure it doesnt bother u because i spell (most) of my words correctly...

I would love to offer information on Verizons other products. I however work for Verizon Business. I really do not know about their DSL offerings since I have not had a chance to use them.

I can tell you that EVDO is just about as slick as it gets though. Even in non-tier 1 cities you can get up to 200K/s with a blackberry acting as your modem. Tier 1 cities are getting upwards of 2mb service.

Imagine having a wireless hotspot with you everywhere you go. I do not even work on that product and I really was impressed.

I work on the stuff that everyone loves to hate. 🙂 I am a Lead Developer and Testing Liason for the Intelligent Call Routing folks. I route calls to the appropriate call centers. I do this at an extreme volume/day for a large number of companies.

1. howd they "screw" you
2. its called a cancellation fee. if u read the fine print u would have known that, on the commercials they even SAY it it says somthing like "$XXX early temination fee"
3. if u remember from a while ago i told u i had an mp3 player replaced within 5 days from dell, no problems. didnt even have to pay to ship out my broken one

like i said before as well, patience and kindness goes a long way, maybe u just arnt a people person

200kb is way faster compared to my charter, duno why but max dl speed is 100kb for any given download, i can run multiple and get 100kb on 2 or 3.. then it starts to bog down with the massive amount of bandwith... but that is pretty cool with the wireless hotspot where ever u are, i bet it will be like that throughout the entire usa before 2015 😛.. but then again, some places dont even have cable yet...

so basically u work with the people dvd hates? the customer support people? do me a favor, if u ever hear him call (duno how u would, but whatever) just say no and hang up

1.they promised to install service but did'nt said that it was available then unavailable then it was got pissed and cancelled phone with them
2.The contract cleary stated that if you are not satisfied in 90days cancel with out fees my dad cancelled 2 days before aand he had the call recorded but some ass**** decided to say he cancelled later weven though the phone call cleary stated that it was the 30 of december not the 1st of january but the judge threw that out as evidence and we lost
3.my brother's freind is young and got a dell it broke within 3 weeks and wanted a refund but they would'nt give it to him with out alot of run around so i had to go their and yell at the guy with no success!

My software intelligently routes to thousands of call centers. I have nothing to do with the individual customers since I am the geek in the background that makes the magic happen. By the way we are talking about millions of calls per day....

Just a few 🙂

seems like all of them u "got pissed" like i said kindness goes a long way.

as for the dell thing so that we can keep this thread on topic, i bet they would have given u a replacement if u were patient with them, i doubt any company would give u a refund with no explination as to why. when u say "broke" im sure u meant, he didnt want it anymore. u see ANY manufacture would NEVER honor there warrenty if u called and said "it broke give me my money back" warrentys have certain things that need to be met in order to honor it, u cant call and say that or of course they wont let u have ur money back, especailly if it was some punk kid. the way u handle stuff makes u hate companys, try a new policy, be nice when u call about asking for a refund, im sure it wont kill u to be polite for 5 minutes to get 400 dollars back. ur own ignorance is the reason u hate companies, wonderful reason. does anyone even side with u? ever? i cant believe ur actually older than me, u act like a 13 year old in these posts.

lol what i picture is a mission control like setup and some scrony geeky guy with huge glasses pointing and yelling with fire in his eyes, makes me laugh  thats amazing too, to take millions of calls and send them out to other companys cool waht technology can do 😛

well theres this thing about computers... usually they dont boot when theres no electricity, u might wanna consider plugging it in before u try to get a refund, just word to the wise.

I am 6' and weigh ~265LBS so you would be wrong. And I am about as mild mannered as they get. I have people that WANT to work for me NOT Have to work for me. It is a huge difference.

I apologize to the Op of this thread. I have been just a wee bit off topic for a while 🙂.

No, Dell does NOT need AMD. AMD is a "nice to have" but not a deal breaker.

well now u ruined my fantasy 🙁 oh well, a man can dream...

@ dvd

im sure with ur skill u forgot to plug in the monitor, computers dont just randomly go (ESPECAILLY PREBUILT ONES) "im not gonna work anymore" they usually over time start to decay, as in, become slower take longer to boot and such, unless the lil kid deleted crap he shouldnt have or u changed the jumper on the mobo it would run until somthing failed, which would be at least 4 years. i know when i got my first computer i messed around with it and messed it up but i also had the sense to figure out what i did and fix it, appearently when i was 10 i was smarter than u!

Dell has a large amount of leverage in the business PC market. Businesses tend to be bigger buyers than average consumers, but's only because corporations tend upgrade their equipment more often. There are exceptions to the rule, of course.

As far as Intel's next chip, IF it delivers better multi-core capabilities than AMD then I expect it to be the preferred processor choice. Businesses will then expect employees to be better multi-taskers because of the computers.

I agree 😀

$me salutes ches111

@ parlee

While about 90% of problems are user error I have had equipment from MAJOR OEMs arrive DOA.

Even very high end equipment costing tens of thousands of $.

Stuff happens.

A lot of companies have QC dept's that are AWOL.
