[citation][nom]amstech[/nom]Intel CPU offerings are not alot faster then AMD's, sorry to burst you bubble. Did I read 30%? In your dreams, my overclocked X3 benches right with i5's and i7's. Intel's CPU's are over-rated.[/citation]
Sorry to burst yours, but i5s and i7s can overclock, too. So that's not a very fair comparison. (At the same time, you're comparing your CPU to ones that cost two or three times the cost of yours. Comparing to i3s would make a lot more sense.) Also, lenoxlev's 30% claim is likely based on overall performance, not just gaming performance. I'll probably get thumbed down for this, but Intel processors are far from overrated when you make the most of them. I would say that AMD desktop processors are underrated, though.

With what you guys are saying,

When I first started learning about computers (1999-2002) my "mentor" kept talking about how much cheaper amd was for pretty much the same performance.

Now about 10-11 years later it seems that amd is still the choice for the "regular" person, while the persona with just a 'bit' too much to spend buys intel.

Maybe its just me, but hey, I was warned about both Nvidia's and Intel's pricing scheme before I built my first computer, and besides the 4400 it hasn't failed yet.
