Well you better get the right mobo with that chip. s939 mobo will not work with s754 chip and vice versa.

yeah I know, gota make sure all works together :)

I wonder where the 754 version chip is? id like to see that one. then it could be used in a cheaper setup.

Should be able to fine them on pricewatch.com They make excellent workstations/servers even though its gamming potentional is on par with s939 chips.

On www.go-l.com, select computers then select workstations. There you will find Opteron, Zeon, and Zeon MP solutions. You will fine either dual CPU rigs or even quad CPU rigs. May wanna call them for a quote or two for there is nothing stock about these rigs.

Has anyone noticed that only Monarch Computers has this chip for sale?

wtf??? I called today to see if they have no interest financing on a new system, which they dont do online and well, the guy laughed when I asked about the 90nm chip and said, "Yeah, no one else has them." but he laughed oddly...
Like, really odd sorta hiding something laugh, holding back, you know?

Someone else out there has to have one for a ghetto guy like me.

anyone besides me find it odd that only one retail store in georgia has this chip?

I mean, I live in NYCity. One would think some store here out of 13 million people possibly running/owning one would have one of these chips...

Kinda peculiar

well monarch isnt just some retail store, they do have close ties with amd on luanching new products and ive sene them being the first to have alot of amd related stuff recently, its not really suprising to me. i bet newegg wont be far behind.

Just to let you guys know someone at toms is getting a 90nm 939 3500.

It's me I'm so stoked. I hope the stinker likes water.

Monarch is an AMD launch partner. When I bought my Opteron 248s, I had to go through Monarch if I wanted a good price. They and one other place I forget off hand had it, and that was it. It was like that for a short time after the chip release.

Wow, ok, so thats the deal eh?
Good to know if I ever want a rock solid price.
Although, the sales people are a bit translucently shadey over the phone. They need to hang around camera shops on 42nd street more.
But still, they might be a good company.
