I am very sorry for you. You got unlucky. The day before I received the card I read that the problem was more serious than we initially though and I got really worried for 24 hours. It was so a big relief when I ran the first benchmark and saw that the junction temp was good (and as I wrote, it got even better with a slight fan speed adjustment). I hope Sapphire will help you out.
Sapphire said they don't have the cooler and its AMDs problem because it's their design. They directed me to purchase other AIB designs by Sapphire. AMD website tells me to visit the manufacturer(Sapphire) for warranty work. I knew going into this the odds were against me, but I tried anyway. Still have the waterblock on pre-order, though.

BTW; I'm curious as to what your temps are, both GPU and Junction(hotspot)?

I hate when they do that. They throw the ball at each other and you are trapped in the middle with nobody wanting to help you. Can't you ask for a replacement (or a refund) to your retailer instead? It's what I would have done if I had the overheating issue with mine.

AMD will most likely cut the prices on the Ryzen 7000 because they don't perform as well as their intel couterpart that are better priced and also because the non-x version are performing almost as good as the x version but are cheaper. If it was not that the MB and RAM were so expensive I would buy a Ryzen 7900 (non-x). But I am good with my 5900x for the moment. However, I don't see why they would do the same for the GPUs since they have better performance value than Nvidia (beside the 1600$ 4090).

About my temp for the 7900 XTX, the game that is the most GPU demanding that I am playing right now is Deathloop and as I said in my other comment, with a slightly more aggressive fan speed curve than the default one (that is clearly set to minimize noise as much as possible) I get maximum 65 for the GPU and the junction fluctuates between 76 and 80. So it's pretty good, even better than my RTX 2080.

Without Smart Access Memory I get 120-130 FPS on Deathloop and a pretty steady 144 with SAM enabled (my monitor is 144 Hz), so it really does something. So far I am very happy with the card.
