The comments from AMD referring to ARM are strictly and specifically for custom SoC's individually contracted for by a specific customer in the future--AMD is merely echoing a similar statement by Intel last week that Intel would be happy to do custom ARM-based SoC's for any customers who might want them. It has absolutely nothing to do with AMD manufacturing ARM-based CPUs to sell into the general consumer and server marketplaces--AMD is 100% "x86" there and always will be for the foreseeable future...;)

It's fantastic that AMD is getting ready when Arm replaces the x86 CPU as the main pc CPU. AMD needs to get some more fab companies on boards, since Rumor have Intel and Nvidia buying up 5 nm and 3 nm, thus cutting off or slowing down AMD road map of CPU and GPU products. The AMD Ryzen and navi train is being cutoff at the pass. See Tom's Hardware, where AMD promise more supply in 2022, Too bad it's not Gamers they are promising, but server, laptop, and crypto miners.

Not going to happen...;) Ever...;) See my other post in the thread for the correct context of the AMD (and Intel) remarks. Of course, I'm not surprised to see people reading into these remarks all sorts of strange, absurd notions!

{To be pedantic;} AMD doesn't "make" chips. It "designs" them, and then other people make the chips for them. AMD isn't going to "make" ARM chips.
